It’s time for a new free quilt block! This week we are sewing up the Nine Patch Star Block – RBD Block Challenge!
This week’s block is called the Nine Patch Star and it’s easy to see why! This sweet block is a really fun one and it would be great for fussy cutting too! It is designed by Gerri Robinson of Planted Seed Designs – she is such a talented fabric and quilt designer!
Isn’t this fun? I added in a second print in my nine patch block, just to add a little more color. I love that this challenge lets you play with fabrics like that! I’m using my Stardust fabric for this challenge – for this block, I used two of the main floral prints, in Mist and Ballerina, and also the small floral in Vintage White.
I also added Sashiko stitching around the block with my Baby Lock Sashiko machine! For this block out outlined the star details. It really makes those points pop!
