I am having so much fun seeing projects on the Retro Stitchery book tour that have different colorways or are in different versions! This Choose Joy Hoop from Diary of a Quilter turned out so gorgeous – I love her thread choices so much!
I’m sure you are familiar with Amy Smart from Diary of a Quilter. She is an amazing quilter, stitcher and designer and she’s a fabulously kind person as well! I’ve been able to spend time with her at conferences and Quilt Market over the years and I am so thankful for her friendship. She is such an inspiration to me!
Choose Joy Hoop from Diary of a Quilter
Amy chose the Choose Joy hoop for her book tour project and put her own spin on it with different thread colors. She shares her color choices in her blog, you can check it out below! I especially love the way she outlined the word “joy” in a different color – it really makes her stitching pop.

Amy is a fabric designer with Riley Blake Designs as well, her current collection is Notting Hill! I made up my latest Vintage Stars quilt in this fabric, as well as a project bag. It’s such a gorgeous collection!
Amy’s latest quilt is a new version of her Palace Court quilt pattern in the prettiest chambray and blue fabrics!
Isn’t it beautiful! I love this color pallette – it’s so soothing. You can check out Amy’s quilt here!
You can find Amy on her blog, Facebook, and Instagram. Make sure you’re following her – I’m sure you’ll love her as much as I do!
You can find Retro Stitchery in stores now! I am carrying it in my shop, and you can also find it in your local quilt shops, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Martingale.
