Sewcialites 2 Sew Along Block 10

It’s a new year and it’s time for a new block in the fun Sewcialites Sew Along! This is the Sewcialites 2 Sew Along Block 10 – the Flourish Block by Lori Holt!

Isn’t this so fun? This block has Lori Holt’s fabulous style and detail; you can do so much with color choices with this one.

If you’re unfamiliar with the sew-along, Sewcialites 2 is a free sew-along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop with 24 gorgeous quilt blocks designed by 24 designers. The blocks all look fabulous together, and they make up a really fun sampler-style quilt. Each week a new block is released and this is the Flourish Block, designed by Lori Holt.

I am sewing along with my Daisy Fields collection, and I am making up the 3″ and the 9″ finished blocks. I’m excited to have two different sizes of the same quilt! I am using the Scattered Hexie print in Sand Dollar as the background. The little hexies have a gold shimmer, so the quilt blocks have a fun sparkle.

Sewcialites 2 Sew Along Block 10

For this block I chose the blues and golds from the collection. The 3″ size was a little tricky, and my version is far from perfect hehe. But I’m ok with it! It is fun to make up the small blocks to test my skills and practice with those tiny pieces. I’m loving it – imperfections and all. :)
