It’s time for a new designer block in the Shine Together quilt! This is the Kitty Block in the Shine Together Sew Along, designed by Amanda Niederhauser!
This week, two designer blocks were released as alternatives for the Shine Together blocks. This one is by Amanda of Jedi Craft Girl, and of course, it’s a cute little cat! I’m using this as my Y block in the quilt, and I made mine a gray little kitty like my new baby Addie using the new Dainty Daisy Charcoal color! I added in blues and greens to the block with the Alpine, Waterfall, and Jade colors.
Because my Addie has little white whiskers, I added whiskers to my cat block! I drew them onto the fabric with a marking pen and stitched them with three strands of white embroidery floss. It took just a few minutes, and I love how it adds a little texture and personality to the block!

The instructions on the pattern show how to make the quilt. If you decide to substitute in any of the bonus blocks, you’ll have to cut those out according to the instructions from the designer.
