Today kicks off a fun, new sew-along from Riley Blake Designs that shows off low-volume fabrics perfectly!! I’m sharing my Diamond Bright Block in the Shine Together Quilt today.
Shine Together is a gorgeous new free pattern from Riley Blake, designed to highlight their latest low-volume collection, Hush Hush 3. Each print in Hush Hush 3 is by a different RBD designer, and this quilt really shows them off! It is shown here in Hush Hush 3, along with the RBD Basic, POParazzi. There are 12 cute star blocks in this quilt, and you can download the pattern as is, orrrrrrr – you have options!! Each week starting today through March 15, a different designer or two will share an alternative center for one of the star blocks. These will be 6″ blocks, so you can just swap out whatever star center you’d like!
Riley Blake will share tutorials for their star blocks each Friday, along with the links to the designer patterns. I’m going to sew along and choose a block to make each Friday. And I’m going to make up the whole quilt with Hush Hush 3, and my basic, Dainty Daisy! I’m up first this week, and this is my block, Diamond Bright.
Diamond Bright Block Shine Together Quilt
For this sweet 6″ block, I’ve used several pinks and reds from Dainty Daisy and my print from Hush Hush 3, Scallop Sketching. It’s made up of groups of 5 little lines with tiny scallops on them in a soft, pretty pink. The Dainty Daisy colors I used for this are Frosting, Peony, Lipstick, and Riley Red. I love how the block colors look almost 3D!
You can get the free Shine Together Quilt pattern here.
The instructions on the pattern show how to make the quilt, as shown in the photo above. If you decide to substitute in any of the bonus blocks, you’ll have to cut those out according to the instructions from the designer.

There are so many great low-volume prints in Hush Hush 3; you can find the fabrics in stores now! You can also find yardage of my Dainty Daisy fabrics, including all the new colors. The precuts of Dainty Daisy will be in stores any day. Yay!
Check back next week for another fun star center alternative in this super cute Shine Together Sew Along!

Hello Bev! Your Diamond Bright block is so gorgeous!!! Is that Block Z in the pattern?? I’m sorry to ask. The fabrics you used makes it look so much more beautiful than the pattern printing, and I want to be sure I am making yours.
Thank you so very much,
Tina
