We are having so much fun with this sew along – I can’t believe we are on our last block! This week we are sewing up the A Walk in the Woods Corner Star Blocks!
These stars are so much fun! They are similar to an Ohio Star block and they go together pretty quickly! Plus there are only four to make and they really make the corners of the quilt stand out.
We have had a blast sewing up each section and I’ve shared a video each week with tips and info on making the blocks easier to sew. You can find all the previous weeks here:
- A Walk in the Woods Week 5 – Trees
- A Walk in the Woods Week 4 – Churn Dash Week 2
- A Walk in the Woods Week 3 – Churn Dash Week 1
- A Walk in the Woods Week 2 – Stars and Flower Basket Blocks
- A Walk in the Woods Week 1 – Center Churn Dash and Star
- A Walk in the Woods Kickoff
In this week’s video, I have tips on putting those Ohio Stars together with directional fabric (if you’d like!) as well as this week’s giveaway!

I am so excited about finding your site. I am almost 76 and have always wanted to learn to quilt. I am getting my shoulder replaced this summer so I think large quilts are out of my future but I love your mini quilts. I would like to try one while I am preparing for my surgery. Can you recommend a quick and easy beginner quilt for an old lady with a very painful shoulder?
