I’m back with another Sewcialites 3 block, and this week we’re sewing up the Flower Block by Elizabeth Hartman — and it is such a sweet one!

This block has such a fun mix of simple piecing and really charming detail. I love how the design creates a stylized flower with that pretty layered look — it feels a little bit modern and a little bit vintage all at the same time. Elizabeth always has such a great way of designing blocks that are eye-catching but still approachable to sew.

I’m continuing to sew along with my upcoming Correspondence fabric collection, and this block really lets those prints shine. The soft florals and sweet colors work so nicely with the flower design, and I especially love how the different sections highlight the mix of prints — it gives the whole block a fresh, cheerful feel.

If you’re just joining in, Sewcialites 3 is a free sew along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop, featuring blocks from 25 different designers. Each week brings a brand new block, and you can sew along in any fabrics you love — or mix and match sizes since the blocks are available in 3″, 6″, and 9″ options.

You can grab this week’s free pattern from Fat Quarter Shop and join in the sew along. It’s been so much fun seeing everyone’s blocks come together — I can’t wait to see your version of this pretty flower!
