This week’s Sewcialites 3 block is the Window Seat block, designed by Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic—and it’s such a fun, modern-meets-cozy design!

There’s something about this block that really does feel like its name…like a quiet little nook filled with light and flowers. I love how the angled center creates that “window” effect—it’s simple, but so striking.

I’m continuing to sew along with my Correspondence fabric collection, and I’m loving how these prints are playing together from block to block. The florals and soft prints give this design a sweet, layered look while still letting the structure of the block shine.

This one came together quickly, but it has such a unique layout that it really stands out in the growing quilt. I think it’s going to be such a pretty mix of classic and modern once all the blocks are together!

If you’re sewing along, you can grab the free pattern for the Window Seat block from Fat Quarter Shop. And if you haven’t joined in yet, there’s still plenty of time—this sew along runs through August, so you can jump in anytime.

I’d love to hear what you think of this week’s block—are you going bold and modern or soft and floral?
