This week’s Sewcialites 3 block is the lovely Back Porch block from Joanna Figueroa, and I had so much fun sewing this one up!

I’m still stitching along with my Correspondence collection, and I couldn’t resist adding a little pop of Dainty Daisy in the Grass colorway right in the center for an extra bit of contrast and color.

I love the sweet vintage feel of this block — those sweet, angled corners paired with the bold floral prints feel so classic and cheerful together. The little center square almost feels like a tiny framed bouquet, and the Grass accent gives it just the right fresh springy touch.

One of my favorite things about Sewcialites is seeing how each designer’s personality shines through in their block style, and this one definitely has that cozy Fig Tree charm. I’m already excited to see how all these blocks come together at the end of the sew along!

You can find the free Back Porch block pattern from Fat Quarter Shop, and be sure to stop by the Sewcialites Facebook group to share your version too. I always love seeing everyone’s fabric choices and color combinations!
