The Sewcialites 3 sew along is rolling right along, and this week’s block is a classic favorite with a fresh, floral twist! Block 12 is the Shoo Fly Block, designed by Sharon Holland, and it’s such a fun mix of simple piecing and bold design.

I love how timeless this block is—it’s one of those traditional designs that always feels right at home, no matter the fabric. Sewing it up in my Correspondence collection gives it a soft, romantic feel, especially with those sweet florals and delicate prints. The contrast between the corner units and the center really lets the fabrics shine!

Sewcialites 3 is such a fun sew along, with 25 designers sharing blocks in multiple sizes (3″, 6″, and 9″), so you can mix, match, and customize your quilt however you like. I’m sewing mine in the 9″ size and loving how it’s all coming together week by week.

You can download the free Shoo Fly Block pattern on the Fat Quarter Shop website, and be sure to join the Sewcialites Facebook Group to see everyone’s blocks—there is so much inspiration!
