It is no secret that I am all about cute shoes! I am not always about the budget for great shoes though. Sometimes it is wayyyy easier to make my own! Or refashion them anyway – I am not so good at making shoes from scratch. So to celebrate the cuteness of shoes – I am declaring this Shoe Week here at Flamingo Toes!
I’m going to share 3 Cute Shoe Refashions this week – all starting off with this Easy Lace and Bow Flat Refashion!
These sweet flats are so easy to make – just a little lace and ribbon – but they are so much cuter than plain flats!
Here’s what you’ll need – seriously this is so easy.
- Plain flats – I picked these up on clearance at Target
- Lace
- Ribbon
- Decorative Buttons
- e-6000 Glue
Begin by cutting out a little section of lace for each shoe. I found this pretty black lace and cut out the little fan section.
Glue the section of lace to the top of the flat with e-6000.
Cut two pieces of ribbon, one a little smaller than the other. Fold them to make bows and run gathering stitches down the center.
Overlap the bows and place the larger bow towards the back. Glue the bows in place over the lace.
Cut the shank off your button and glue it in place over the bows.
Repeat for the other shoe – and that’s it!
Aren’t they cute?! I love how they turned out!
Make sure you come back for tomorrow’s refashion!
