Charming Baby Sew Along Week 1

We’re kicking off a brand new sew along hosted by the Fat Quarter Shop today – it’s the Charming Baby Quilts Sew Along Week 1!

Charming Baby Quilts (affiliate link) is a new book from Melissa Corry and all the quilts are designed for use with charm packs! They’re perfect for baby quilts but also they’re just darling and would be great for anyone.

In this Sew Along we’re making a sampler quilt using blocks from all the quilts in the book – it’s such a great design!

Charming Baby Sew Along Week 1

This week we’re starting things off with blocks from the A Star is Born Quilt and the Color in the Lines Quilt. Both these blocks were so fun to make.

I used my new Singing in the Rain fabrics that just hit stores. It’s full of bright florals, little umbrellas and rain boots! So fun for Spring.

The Star is Born Quilt Block is a big showy star – I love the patchwork look to it, even though it’s all Singing in the Rain fabric!

For the sampler quilt, you’ll need four Color in the Lines blocks. I was careful with my layout so I’d be able to keep all my directional prints going the same way. It was super simple with the charm pack squares!

I think this is going to be such a fun, colorful quilt, don’t you?
