Today I’m combining a couple of my favorite things – Christmas and jewelry.
I have a super quick and really easy tutorial for today for this Winter Wonderland Snow Globe Necklace!
Aren’t they sweet?! I promise they are super easy. You can easily make them up even if you have never made jewelry before. Promise.
You could even make up a few as early gifts, hostess thank you’s, or even make up a bunch at a crafty Christmas party!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own wee snow globe necklace:
-
Snow Globe Kit
(there are lots of shops that carry these on Etsy, in different styles and shapes.
Mine came from here.) -
1″ tall bottle brush trees
-
1 jump ring
-
24″ necklace, or chain, lobster clasp, 2 more jump rings
-
E-6000 Glue, toothpick
Your snow globe kit should come with a globe, base and a little top bail with ring.
Cut the wood base off your tiny tree with wire cutters. Point the base away from you or anyone nearby to avoid getting a tree stump in your eye.
Add a good amount of E-6000 glue to the center of the base of the globe and glue the tree in place. You’ll want to wait until the tree is pretty sturdy and the glue is starting to hold before assembling the globe to the base.
While you’re waiting for the tree to dry, add a small dab of glue to the bottom of the bail piece and glue to the top of the dome.
Once your parts are all dry, add glue to the inside edge of the base. A toothpick works great for applying the glue.
Fit your globe down over the tree onto the base. Hold in place until the glue has started to set.
Once your globe is dried, add a small jump ring to the ring on the top. Feed a necklace through the ring to finish off your necklace.
If you need help with jump rings, or making your own necklace, you can check out my Jewelry Tips page for instructions.
That finishes off your necklace! See – wasn’t that easy?
I hope you like it!

Good morning Bev. Very cute, as always. There are just so many fun things you can do for holiday jewelry. Thanks for sharing this one. I didn’t realize there were snow globe kits.

How adorable…you could put a little powder inside and shake it up for snow
Beverly says
Thanks Divya! Great idea – it would be cute with some white glitter inside for snow too! :)

These are just the cutest, Bev! I would totally want one on a ring, too, if I wasn’t afraid I’d whack it on something. I’m clumsy like that. A necklace is definitely a better way to go!

I would use some spray adhesive and add glitter to the tree before assembling. I love SPARKLE and it would look like snow sparkling in the sunshine.

When I see a project like this I like to read comments as many tips are conveyed making it easier to make said project. This seems to be very true with your adorable snow globe necklace. Would love to make some for daughter, her 2 girls, and if they turned out well, for other people would love to gift.
This is absolutely a winner Bev. Unusual and something different can’t go out to any store to buy. Most likely won’t get them made this year but will be in my project notebook for special ideas want to make for next.
Have decided not to put myself in time crunches trying to get things made, things tend not to turn out as well when I do.
If my age has taught me nothing else it’s that. What can I say, am slow learner. Being able to accomplish something and wanting to don’t jive for me at least.
These are so sweet and special.
Enjoy rest of weekend

I love this, I didn’t even know snow globe jewellery findings were a thing!
We have some teeny tiny tree decorations that are just too small to see properly on the tree so I’ve been wondering what else I can use them for. I think they might work in tiny snow globes (probably a next year project now) I’m pinning and come next November, assuming I can find the tiny ornaments, I might make these for the little girls in the family. (and maybe one for myself!)
