Stacked Halloween Pumpkin Tower

I seem to be on a Black and White color scheme for Halloween! I just love the contrasts and I think it gives things more of a vintage feel – and you know I’m all about that. Well today I have a super cute new Stacked Halloween Pumpkin Tower to share – all made with black and white goodness and some little pops of green to set it all off!

This thing is a good two feet tall – so it’s super eye-catching. I love it. It’s made up with faux pumpkins set on a milk glass base and topped off with a snazzy little Crow Witch. She has a cute little hat and a keen sense of balance.

My sweet friend Michele found the milk glass vase for me last weekend when we were antique shopping and it makes the perfect base for the tower.

The whole tower is super easy to put together and a great way to use up trims and supplies you probably have on hand. Here’s what you’ll need for your own tower:

• Faux Pumpkins – two sizes. Mine are from Michaels
• Paint
• Ribbon
• Small Crow
• Felt and trim for hat
• Base for tower – a vase or bowl or something like that
• Pearl pins
• wire for connecting pumpkins
• dried moss
• hot glue

Start by creating your little witch hat. Cut out a small triangle and a circle from felt.

Glue the triangle together along the sides, then glue the triangle to the center hole to create your little hat.

Decorate the hat with some scraps of trim and a little pom pom top. Trying the hat on the cat is optional here and not necessarily recommended.

Glue the hat to your little crow. You can add some trim around her neck too. I glued some lace and a little cameo button.

Now if your pumpkins are not the colors you want, spray paint them. All my Michaels had left were orange pumpkins so I just painted one white and one black. Super easy.

Decorate the larger pumpkin with little pearl pins. I used small pearl beads and tiny stick pins, since that is what I had on hand, but you could use pearl head pins as well. Whatever works! Either will go into the pumpkin just fine. If you use the little stick pins like I did I recommend a thimble or something else to push them in or you’ll end up with a very sore finger when you’re finished.

Continue adding pearls until your pumpkin is covered.

For the white pumpkin, glue on stripes of black rick rack down the segment sections. I glued a little bit or rick rack at the stem as well to cover the ends of the stripes.

For the base, add a little polyfill to the vase, then top it off with some dried moss. Glue this in place.

Add a good amount of glue to the base of the black pumpkin and glue it on top of the vase. Insert some wires into the stem of the black pumpkin, then hot glue. Place the white pumpkin onto the wires and glue and hold in place until it is steady.

Finish off your tower by gluing your little crow on top, and adding ribbon bows between the pumpkins. Super easy right?!

I just love that little crow topper. She looks so stylish up there on her pumpkin.

I think it looks great on my little curio cabinet with my Gothic Skeleton Wreath too!
