My Sewcialites 3 quilt is finished, and I am completely in love with how it turned out! It has been so much fun watching this quilt grow one block at a time, and I love seeing all these gorgeous blocks together at last.

Today, Fat Quarter Shop is releasing the finishing instructions! There are so many creative ways you could arrange and finish these blocks, but I chose to follow the provided layout with one little twist. I added a 3″ border in Stargazer Dainty Daisy to make the quilt a bit larger and give it a pretty finished frame.

The finishing pattern calls for a setting fabric, and I chose the Stardust Dainty Daisy colorway. I love the deep blue against the soft colors in the blocks—it really makes every block stand out and shine! I also added extra squares from Correspondence throughout the setting to continue the scrappy look of the quilt.

For the backing, I used the Correspondence Tan Doily wide back print. I finished everything off with the cloud stripe from Correspondence for the binding, and I love how the different colors in the stripe make it look like a pieced binding. It is such a fun detail!

You can find the Sewcialites 3 finishing pattern at Fat Quarter Shop. It has been such a treat to be part of this sew along, and I couldn’t be happier with my finished quilt!
