It’s Friday, which means it’s time for another Sewcialites 3 block! This week’s block is Gazebo, designed by Doug Leko, and I love all the movement and dimension in this classic design. It has such a timeless look, but it really shines when you start playing with pretty prints.

For my version, I chose soft pink, white, and aqua prints from my Correspondence collection for the center section. Those sweet florals give the block such a fresh, cheerful feel. In the corners, I couldn’t resist fussy cutting sections of the Correspondence tan stripe print so the delicate lace and tiny florals would frame the block. Those little details always make me smile and add so much personality to the finished design.

I’m sewing the 9″ version of each block for the sew along, and it’s been so much fun watching this sampler come together one block at a time. If you’re sewing along too, I’d love to see your Gazebo block!

You can find the free pattern at Fat Quarter Shop and you can join the fun in the Sewcialites group on Facebook. It is so inspirational to see the blocks in different fabrics!
