Last week, we kicked off our new quilt along, and this week, we are sewing up the Melody Lane Sew Along Birdhouse Block!

We are just starting to sew up my fun Melody Lane Quilt; this is our first week of sewing. We will be making up this darling Birdhouse Quilt Block in this week’s tutorial, and only five of these blocks are in the quilt. They are really fast and fun to sew!

We are sewing up the first block in my Melody Lane Quilt. You can find the pattern in shops now, (including mine) and you can find Melody fabrics in shops as well! Click here for a list of shops carrying the fabrics and Melody Lane Kits!
For this block you can choose to fussy cut a bird for the center of the birdhouse, or you can use a pretty floral, or you can download this FREE bird embroidery pattern and stitch up a bird for the center of the block.

For the stitching on the design, I used four colors of floss and stitched the design with 2 strands of floss. All of the design is stitched with a back stitch, except for the leaves, which I used a satin stitch for. I think it will add some fun texture to the quilt!
In this week’s video, I’ll be sharing tips on fussy cutting and block assembly. I’ll be live at 2 pm CT on YouTube.
I can’t wait to see your versions of this cute block!

Where can I find the actual patterns? Do I need to watch the videos to attain the pattern? I have requested to join the group, but am waiting for approval. I am already on the email list, that’s how I discovered your SAL.
Sorry about that Crystal, you can find the link to the pattern in my shop: https://flamingotoesshop.com/search?q=Melody+Lane+quilt
Thanks!
You’re so sweet, Beverly! Thank you for all you do and share with us. You have such great gifts!
Thanks for the video. I love the birdhouses!
