Layer Cake Lollies Quilt

I have such a fun and fast new quilt to share today!! I’ve sewn along with Fat Quarter Shop for their latest free quilt pattern – this darling Layer Cake Lollies Quilt!

I will have the link to the free pattern for you at the bottom of the post. I think this will become one of my go-to quilts for when I need to sew up a quick and cute quilt. These are perfect for gifts as well as when you want to show off a favorite favorite fabric collection.

For my quilt, I used the new collection, Bloom and Grow (aff link), from Simple Simon and Co and Riley Blake Designs. This collection is so gorgeous!! There are lots of florals (check out that border!!) but there are great geometric prints and a text print full of flower names that I am in love with.

Aren’t those colors gorgeous?! I used a 10″ stacker of Bloom and Grow to make my quilt.

I love how this pattern really lets the fabrics shine – it’s a great beginner quilt as well.

I used the tiny floral for the backing on this one – it makes such a colorful print for the back.

For my version of the quilt, I made the background border an inch smaller, then I added a 4″ floral border. I wanted my quilt to be a little larger, and I wanted to show off that burgundy floral!

I’m also super excited with how the quilting turned out on this quilt! It was quilted by Brooke from Lady Belle Quilting and it turned out so gorgeous! The big floral quilting went perfectly with the florals in the fabric.
