We are on Week 4 of making up our fun patriotic quilts! This is the Heartland Quilt Along Flying Geese week.
In this fun sew-along, we are sewing together my Heartland Quilt pattern! This is the week we are sewing up the quick and fun flying geese sections that run down the center of the quilt. These little blocks are so cute, and they go together really fast.
Each section is made up of a row of seven flying geese and there are four sections – these divide up the two columns of heart flag blocks. I love the way they separate the flag blocks. Here are the sections we’ve had in the sew along so far:
- Week 1 – Heartland Sew Along Kickoff
- Week 2 – Heartland Sew Along Star Blocks
- Week 3 – Heartland Sew Along Flag Blocks
In this week’s sew-along video, I’ll share tips on how to sew flying geese and how to sew these sections together. I’ll be live on Mondays at 2 pm CT each week of the sew along on YouTube, but if you can’t make it you can watch the videos anytime later.
I’m sewing up the quilt with my Sweet Freedom fabrics and using my Stargazer color of Dainty Daisy as the background. It’s never too late to join in with a sew along! You can find Sweet Freedom fabrics and Heartland Kits in stores here. You can also pick up the pattern in my shop and join in with any fabrics you’d like.
