I just can’t resist adding florals to things – and I’m up for whatever makes a spooky spider cuter!
This little Floral Spider Web Quilt pattern is such a blast to sew up for Halloween! It’s a free pattern I’m sharing over at Babylock so you can dive right in and make one of your own!
I made up the spider portion on my Babylock Flourish II – it was super easy!
I really love how the little dresdens turned out too! I altered a regular dresden so it would have a little more “web” shape and also quilted the mini with a spiderweb design.
For the background fabric of this spider web quilt, I used Riley Blake Hashtag tone on tone white. It’s hard to see in the photos but I think it makes a great backdrop for the spider. The prints are Autumn Love by Lori Holt. There’s a great mix of fall colors there with some aquas and turquoises to blend with them!
You can find the embroidery design, pattern and instructions over at Babylock!

I can’t wait to hear what you think!

Thank you for the pattern. Very cute. Unfortunately, I don’t have an embroidery machine to make the spider but I’m sure I can find an applique or something else to put in it’s place or I could embroider it by hand. But I love the octagon shape of it.

Love it.. Thanks for sharing.

Help Gals! I located the instructions on the Baby Lock site, but hard as I look, I am unable to locate the Dresden Web Pattern template. What/where am I missing it? Thanks!
Beverly says
Hi Lisa!
No worries, it is a little hard to find! The link is the last word of the opening paragraph about the project, “Download the Dresden Web Pattern and spider design here.” Click the word “here” and it will download the embroidery file, dresden patterns and layout for you. Let me know if you need any more help!
Lisa says
Beverly, you’re my Hero today! Thank you!

This pattern is so cute. I would love to get an embroidered machine.
Cheryl Gamble says
I am not able to open the template patterns. Are they still active links? Thanks.
Beverly says
Hi Cheyrl, I just checked on the Baby Lock site and they are still active and I was able to download them. It does download as a zip file – so you’ll have to have some way to open that. Most computers come with something so you should be able to double click that and then see the folder with the files in it. If that doesn’t work, feel free to email me at [email protected] and I’ll help you out.
Thanks!
Cheryl Gamble says
Thanks! I’ll try again and let you know.

I really like this spider mini quilt. For some reason the Dresden pattern didn’t print. Do I need to go to the Baby Lock site?
Linnie says
Fell in love with spider web pattern. Thank you so much.

I’m trying to convert this topper/mini-quilt into four 15.75″ hexagon shaped placemats. I’m hoping if the finished quilt is just under 24″, [based on original size of batting/fabric] if I divide 15.75 by your mini-quilt size I get just over 65… if I print the pattern at 65% of actual size, I wonder if that would get me close to my outcome? I’m winging it here, haha. Would you confirm the finished size of the mini-quilt? I’ll let you know if it works out!

Thank you for the ‘HALLOWEEN/AUTUMN TREAT! I love the spider with the floral embellishment and what a wonderful idea using Dresdans as the web. This is such welcomed surprise and motivation to me. Happy Fall!

Hi Bev. I love the spider pattern with the he I web but as I was trying to download over on Babylock the spider pattern was not showing up. I have a Babylock embroidery machine so I’d love to complete the mini quilt. Can you check to see where it went wrong? Thank you!!

I love your spider web pattern , but I was unable to download the dresden blade template. The bunting template by Amy Smart downloaded fine, but not yours. I followed all your instructions from the “Comments” section.
Please help.
