We love having people over this time of year and having Christmas movie-watching parties! They are so fun to do, everyone loves Christmas movies and they make for such a relaxed get together. You can have just a few people or a lot!
One of my favorite places to go for party supplies is Dollar Tree. You can throw a much more budget-friendly gathering when your supplies don’t cost a fortune. I recently found out about the Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club and in looking around there I found the perfect idea for our next get together!
When you sign up for the Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club (which is FREE!) you get access to all kinds of fun project ideas that change every month! You can even save or print out the project ideas to make shopping and creating easy. This month they have an idea for using Bite Sized foods at parties. How perfect is that for a Christmas Movie Party?!
I love serving soups at these parties, they are so easy to eat and super easy for me to make. On the day of a party the last thing I want to do is spend all day cooking (and cleaning and decorating and everything else I’m supposed to be doing lol) – so I usually throw a soup in the slow cooker. I can put it together in the morning and it’s ready by party time – all I have to do is put out things to go with it! Easy peasy.
The Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club idea is for Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese sandwiches, which I love, but I wanted to do something a little more hearty so I made up our favorite Clam Chowder. It’s full of potatoes and clams and bacon. Super yummy.
I topped the mugs with cute little slices of sourdough bread. Perfect for dipping in warm clam chowder.
Now everyone can sip their chowder and cozy up and watch White Christmas at the party!
I have fabulous news for you too – I have a $100 Dollar Tree Gift Card to give away!
Entry is super easy. Just sign up for the Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club and leave a comment here telling me what project you’d like to try!
(Make sure when you comment you use the email that you register with so we can verify the winners.)
Thank you for entering, the giveaway is now closed. The winner was #48 – Angel!
Good luck – I’ll be announcing the winner on December 23!

I signed up :) I think I’m going to try the balloon painting with my 8yr old daughter. I have a huge roll of white paper I bought this summer at a rummage sale, like the kind in school for art class that you’d tear off a piece for drawing or painting. I thought I would do something with that paper and use it to wrap gifts this year instead of waisting money I don’t have on store bought paper. I only paid .25 for it, and there’s quite a lot there. The balloon painting would be a good idea to get some color onto that paper quickly.
