Easy DIY Gold Dipped Lace Earrings

A new pair of earrings has been on my to-do list for the longest time! Especially a pair of lace earrings. They are so fun and easy to make – but I wanted to give mine a  little twist! So today I have these easy DIY Gold Dipped Lace Earrings for you!

I love that pop of gold at the top. I haven’t really worn much gold jewelry in the last few years, but I’m slowly adding in a few more touches of gold to my jewelry box. These are definitely an easy addition!

I added in a little “tiffany blue” bead at the top for a little more color too. I had the hardest time deciding on a bead color but I thought the blue was perfect for Spring! I might need another pair though with a little black bead – or even maybe even a black bow!

These really are crazy easy – so let’s dive into the tutorial!

Here’s your materials list:

• Lace pieces
• gold metallic paint, brush
• gold eye pin
• 2 beads
• gold ear wires

Begin by cutting out your lace pieces. There are lots of styles of lace out there – choose some that has some pretty medallions in the lace. Keep in mind the size of the earrings you’d like when choosing your lace too.

Brush on your gold metallic paint on the front of the lace pieces in a “dipped” sort of line, and cover the top of the medallion. Use a foam brush to press the paint into the lace and along the sides.

Once the paint is completely dry, flip the pieces over and cover the same area on top with gold paint. Make sure you follow the paint line on the front. You can hold the lace piece up to the light to help you see through it.

The gold paint will stiffen the top part of the lace. If you want the bottom part to be the same way, you can apply a clear stiffener to the lace.

While your lace is drying, add a bead to an eye pin, and make a loop above the bead as well. (Instructions on how to do that here if you need them.)
Turn the top loop perpendicular to the bottom loop so the earrings will hang correctly when you put it all together.

Add the bottom loop to your lace medallion and the top loop to your ear wire. If you have trouble getting the wire in the lace because of the weave or the paint, push a pin through the lace to create a hole.

Repeat for the other earring and that is it. You know have a super stylish and unique pair of earrings for Spring. Boom.

They are really light and comfortable to wear too. Always a big plus in my book.
