I am loving having a porch to sit on in the evenings here! It’s a little toasty during the day out there. Humid much? But in the evening – especially after a rainstorm? It’s gorgeous.
My favorite time of the day is when the fireflies come out – we didn’t get too many of those in California or Arizona. We have this giant shrub-tree thing over by the fence (can you tell I’m really into botany?) and when it gets dark it just lights up like a Christmas tree. I’ve never seen anything like it – it’s just amazing.
I’ve been dressing up my sitting areas on the porch and I’m loving how it’s coming together! Now we can sit out and let the cats play and just have super relaxing evenings.
I found some really cute things at Target to dress up this side area of the porch. Aren’t these colorful Adirondack chairs so fun? I paired them with this cool little wicker-look table – and it’s got secret storage inside! It’s perfect for holding my pillows for the chairs when we aren’t using them.
I had to dress up the area a bit with some vintage style of course. I made up some colorful pillows from vintage sheets and I added fluffy pom poms to the corners. Aren’t they cute?!
I also hung a vintage sheet pennant from the roof of the porch – I think it adds a little color up there and kind of frames the whole area.
It’s really such a great spot for relaxing and hanging out in the evenings! And sipping sweet tea. Look how Southern I’m getting!

I love your sitting porch!!! The colors really brighten the space and make it look comfortable too!!! I have also noticed tons of fireflies (lighting bugs) out this year!!! They really put on a show!!! Now, all you need is a porch swing. Welcome to the South, we are so glad to have you & your family.

STYLISHLY DECORATED PORCH, so perfect for sitting during summertime– sipping iced tea, visiting with a friend or sad the newspaper or book! I love the aqua chairs plus floral pillows and dark wicker table, all Target products! Real flowers add a lot of color too. Thanks for sharing.
