I have a fun Embroidery project for you today! This sweet little “Chalk” Embroidery Snowflake Necklace is so cute and easy to make. It’s got a fun chalk art style to it – but you don’t have to worry about it disappearing – it’s stitched with embroidery!
The little snowflake is super easy to stitch – just some little lines and back stitches, all surrounded by some super tiny snowflakes make by little French Knots.
It’s such a cute little accessory to wear all winter long – and it would make a fun gift!
So let’s get started! You will need:
- A pendant base and glass cabochon (at least 1″)
- fabric
- white embroidery thread
- decoupage
- E-6000 glue
- Necklace Chain and closure
Place your fabric in a small hoop and trace around your glass cabochon with a marking pen. Draw an outline of your snowflake as well.
Embroidery your snowflake by stitching out some back stitch lines and straight lines for the “spokes” of the snowflake. Add some little french knots around for fun.
Cut around your outline on the fabric, leaving about 1/2″ all the way around. You can trim more if you need to. Brush a light coating of decoupage over the glass cabochon.
Wrap the snowflake embroidery around the cabochon, making sure it’s as flat as possible and wraps around to the back. Add more decoupage as needed.
Glue the snowflake in place on your flat pendant with E-6000. Let it dry 24 hours before wearing.
Add a necklace chain and you’re all finished!
See? Super easy and fun!
I’d love to see a photo if you make one!
