2024 RBD Block Challenge Block 2

It is time for the 2024 RBD Block Challenge Block 2! This is the Sparkle and Shine Block and this is the block I designed for the challenge!

We are just diving into the RBD Block Challenge this year, and I’m already having so much fun sewing along! If you are new to the challenge, every year, Riley Blake Designs hosts a free mystery sew along and the blocks are all designed by RBD Designers. At the end of the challenge, there will be a fun layout for all the blocks too.

This week it is my turn to show off my block, the Sparkle and Shine Block. For this year’s challenge, I’m sewing along with my new Afternoon Tea Fabrics. You can find the fabrics in shops now!

For the background fabric I’m using on of my new Dainty Daisy low volumes, the Peony on cloud. I love the subtle little pink flowers and speckles that are on the fabric; it’s fun how well they blend in with the collection!

We’ve only had one block so far so this is a great time to join in! Here’s my first block in the sew along:
