I’ve been playing around with the little Wristlet from last week and I wanted to show you what I came up with.
If you’ve visited Flamingo Toes much at all, you know I love working with vintage laces and doilies. So of course, with the little panels on the wristlet, I thought it would be fun to use some vintage pieces.
Here’s the new wristlet:
I used a different lace on each large panel and edged the strap with lace also.
I had done some looking online for other wristlets this weekend and came across a Fossil one that looked very similar to mine, but they had put the opening of the zipper at the top of the bag, rather than at the bottom side. I thought that would work just as well. They attached their strap to the zipper also.
So for this bag, I flipped the zipper and added a ring and hook to the end of the strap. (The hook is one I cut off an old purse. You probably have one in your closet too. :) The strap is longer also, 16 inches.
I’m happy with how it came out – though I might not use it too much more this summer. It’s kind of “Spring-ish” don’t you think?
I also wanted to share with you a few photos that a reader, Pam, sent in. She made the wristlet from two placemats and I think it’s just darling.
Pam opted not to do the piecing on the front, and she put a darling flower from the placemat on the bag. She told me she hadn’t sewn in years and it was her first zipper. Isn’t it great??
I just love showing off things that you’ve made!! Thanks for sending in the pictures Pam.
Last bit of news – Bobbie at A Vision to Remember has posted the last recipe I sent it to her for the 30 Day Food Challenge. It’s actually three recipes – a whole meal.
Meatloaf Rollups with Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes and Caprese Salad.
Check it out and let me know what you think!

Thanks for the pattern and tutorial! :) The meatloaf rollups look delicious; I think I’ll have to try that one!

The white/lace wristlet – embellish that puppy temporarily with green or red ribbon or beads and it becomes a holiday wristlet!

I was looking for the PDF pattern on your cute little End of Summer wristlet. I guess you decided not to offer it anymore. It is simply darling and I wanted to see if I could make it for my granddaughter. I love your website and enjoy your posts. Beverly you are very creative and generous in sharing your adventures with us.
