Yes. Yes I did.
I was laughing with a friend a couple of weeks ago – she said that I probably had a ton of jewelry from all my projects. And I had to think for minute – and I realized I don’t!
I’ve actually given a lot of it away – either in giveaways or gifts or whatever. With Snap (awesome blog conference) coming up next week it was time for me to get my jewelry making on and follow some of my own tutorials!
I started off with one of my favorite jewelry tutorials I’ve done. It’s a knockoff of the Anthro Beatrix Necklace. You can check out the first one I made as well as the tutorial if you want to make your own.
I didn’t change up too much for the original tutorial, other than to use the chain and beads I had on hand. Yay for stash crafting!
I haven’t planned out my outfits completely yet but I think this one with go with almost everything don’t you?
I also have not had a Party Animal necklace for my very own – so Mr. Camel got some stylin.
Doesn’t he look nifty? He’s all dressed up with pom poms and rhinestones and a crown. All camels should wear crowns I think. Makes me think of the three wise men. Random.
Anyway – you can check out the original tutorial for ideas on how to dress up other animals.
He looks like he’s smirking doesn’t he? It could be because he’s so stylish now. It could also be because he is shocked at the getup I’ve put him in. It’s a toss up.
I used an longish chain for him – that way I can wear it as a long pendant or layer it with something else. What goes with a clown wearing camel?
Another project that I’ve been meaning to make for myself is the Sparkled Silk Wrap bracelet. I think I’ve made up 6 or 7 of these, but I didn’t have one of my own until now.
I’ve made these up in yellow, gray, and dark teal – but I decided to stick with the mint I used in the original tutorial because I think it will go with a lot of my Snap outfits.
It will look cute layered with other bracelets too I think!
I’ve also been busy making up a bunch of leather cording bracelets.
Isn’t it cute? My grand plan is to be able to hand them out with my business cards. So far I have 157 made so this week I’ll be busy knotting – in addition to everything else I have to do!
So that’s what I’ve been up to this week!
What about you? Do you do last minute stuff like this before a trip/event?

Th camel is a rock star! I can’t wait to see him. You should give him his own hashtag on Instagram so he can become famous. :) I can’t wait to see you again. One week!!!!

Ya..I get asked that question too but only recently I have started making jewelry for myself for shoots and stuff. Recently I got an easy check in at the airport as the security girls were busy admiring my ring :) Its a great idea to give out bracelets with business cards, good luck with the conference

Love all of your jewelry tutorials! And that’s a great idea – the cute leather cord bracelets. Where did you find the colorful leather cord and metal tubing?

I was wandering if there is a free pattern for the leather bracelet. (the one you have made over 150 of them) It looks easy but I am new to jewelry making and would like to make ones similar to this one. Thank you if you can help me. (email would be preferable thanks again)

Christine,
I haven’t done a tutorial for that – though I should!! I’ll try and write one up in the next couple of weeks and email you. :) Thanks for the suggestion!
