I am so excited to show off our Halloween Mantel for this year!
This year we’re in a new house! So I have this amazing antique marble fireplace to play with and this dark red wall. Which I confess I would rather not be red. But I am totally up for a challenge and decided that red wall would be a great backdrop for a Vintage Black and White Halloween Mantel!
I’m really happy with how it came together! It was a really inexpensive display too. Let me show off some close ups!
I had a ton of fun making the backdrops for the mantel with these open frames. They were super simple, just strips of white and cream fabric and lace knotted around pieces of yarn that are tacked to the inside of the frame. Super easy.
My favorite part of the mantel is my Faux Crow Taxidermy Art!
I made these with supplies from the dollar store! I took plain metal silver platters and distressed them, then added book pages to the center. Then I cut some dollar store crows in half and glued them to the center. So fun right? I think they make the perfect little helpers to hold up this beaded garland trim!
I also added in my Crystal Ball Candlesticks – along with a few other fun black and white decorations.
I think it really brightens up the wall don’t you? And that fireplace. I am so looking forward to cozy fires all winter long!
So I’d love to know – do you decorate your mantel for Halloween? What’s your style?

LOVE!!! The taxidermy crows turned out great! And I love that they are holding the garland. The framed rag garland is brilliant! Every looks awesome!

Oh my gosh, this is awesome. The faux taxidermy is the BEST. I love what you did with this! PS I had a red kitchen for the longest time (which the previous owners had painted.) I eventually came to love it, but it took awhile ;)

Thanks Jen! I am sure I’ll get used to it too lol! It’s just the only red thing in the house. Kind of random. ;) I’m so glad you like the mantel!
