I seriously have the most talented friends! I am so excited to show off the book Project Teen by the awesome Melissa from The Polkadot Chair!
Project Teen is such a great book. And I’m not saying that because Melissa is my friend. I think she really did a fabulous job creating all sorts of great projects – designed for teens!
I knew as soon as Melissa posted about her book that I wanted to buy it. Teens can be kind of hard to shop for – and even harder to make gifts for. I’ve definitely struggled with it over the last few years. I love making handmade gifts, but it’s a little trickier for teens. Melissa has filled the book with great ideas and projects. To be honest – these are great for more than just teens. I have a couple of the quilts alone on my to do list – for me!
So let me show off some of the cute projects – then I’ll show you what I started with!
I love this fun graphic quilt she designed. It’s such a cute way to make a quilt personal for your teen – and it is a great design. That little study pillow is super adorable too and would be great for a college student too.
Boys are even harder to sew for – and Melissa has several ideas that are great for your guys. These t-shirt pillows are so stylish and cool. And again – super easy to personalize for your teen.
Melissa has several great zipper pouches in the book that are perfect for storage, travel, or whatever!
It’s been a bit crazy around here so I wanted to start with a quick project and I just fell in love with her “Daddy’s Girl Headbands” – made from ties! They are so cute!
I grabbed a couple of my husband ties and made one for me and one for my daughter. These were so fast and turned out so cute! I am wearing one right now and they are really comfortable too.
And as an added bonus I have the rest of ties for more crafting. Can you say new bracelets??
Melissa has a freebie for you too! As part of this blog tour, she has created a set of gift tags for every blog on the tour! These are so cute and go great with the gifts you can make from the book. Here’s the cute Give Thanks tag I have for you – it’s perfect for Fall and Thanksgiving!
There is a different free tag at every stop on the tour – so head around and visit everyone!

Sounds like a winner! I know it will get harder and harder to hand make gifts for my boys as they get older. This will be a good book to keep on the shelf!
