I have been wanting to do a sweater refashion for a while – and when I saw Ellie G’s over at Less Cake More Frosting – I knew the direction I wanted to go!
I love the swirls she painted on – I think they’re just darling.
And so is she – how cute is this picture!!!
Here’s my version!
I got out my flocked heat transfer from Silhouette and got to swirling!
I started with a Target cardigan – which I got all excited about and didn’t take a before picture of.
I snagged one for you from Target with a perky model in it.
I cut out my swirls with my Silhouette – but I tried to make them fairly simple swirls for you.
If you like the design but don’t have a Silhouette, you could buy the heat transfer material and cut them out by hand, or you could paint them on with a freezer paper stencil like Ellie G!
Email me and I’ll send you either the image file or the Silhouette file. ;)
I used the white flocked transfer material and ironed on my swirls first –
I changed out the buttons so they were a combination of white, black and gray.
I made a few fabric flowers too – one from chiffon, one from lace, one from ribbon and one from fabric.
I wanted some contrast in the flower styles and fabrics.
That’s it!! Such an easy refashion but I love the way it turned out!
And a picture so you can see it on . . .
Which is the best of 50 pictures I took of myself.
Obviously I need more practice. ;)
I’ve updated this with clearer pictures – that one is awful. ;)
I hope you like it!!

Bev! Thank you so much for the sweet shout out! I LOVE the use of the flocked transfer stuff. And the flowers too. they’re so 3-D! Grey is one of my favorite colors as well. We will both be super cool in our sweaters. And since it was only 40 degrees today here…I needed it! Boo! :)
Love love love it!! Thanks for posting. So far I’ve only used my silhouette for scrapbooking and vinyl word art – this gives me another great idea.

Love it. I have a bright pink sweater (might be the same one) that i need to add something too. what color, designs do you recommend? if possible, email me the silhouette file. Like those swirls.
Very cute…how does the transfer do on this kind of stretchy fabric?
That is so cute, adorable, doable. sweet, can hardly wait to try it. Adding the fabric flowers made it even more wonderful. A very versatile project.
I have a brown cardigan I’ve had for years and would love to make it look more wearable. It’s pretty dull. You make it look so easy, guess I’ll have to email you for the file as I don’t have one of those fancy silhouettes. That would be much appreciated. It always makes me wonder how you gals come up with the incredible ideas. That’s why you have a blog and I don’t .
You’ve redone your blog header and all, looks so different than when I used to receive your posts before I had to change providers months ago. Lost many of the blogs I used to subscribe to. Hope all is well with you and your family. My new email address is: [email protected]. com
Happy Weekend Bev
