I just love Instagram – it’s such a fun way to share photos and keep track of fun events and projects! Sometimes though I’d love to be able to display those photos at home – not just in my phone! I wanted something I could easily change out – something I could just clip the photos to so I could change them up as I want. I had a lot of fun making this DIY Fabric Wrapped Photo Frame – it’s bright color is perfect for my decor and I love the way the photos look clipped to the chicken wire! So perfect for Spring.
I printed out little 3″ images of some of my favorite Instagram photos- since they’re so small you don’t really have to worry about quality. And you can change them out super easy with the colorful little clothespins!
I could also clip other things, like flowers or tickets or any other little mementos. This memo board is super easy to make too!
So let’s get started!
How to Make a DIY Fabric Wrapped Photo Frame:
Materials:
- Large Frame (any size will work)
- Fabric for wrapping
- Wired Sisal Vine
- White Chicken Wire
- Burlap Ribbon (I used Green)
- Plastic Mini Clothespins
- Hot Glue Gun
- Staple Gun
Begin wrapping strips of fabric around your frame. I chose this colorful floral vintage-style print for Spring.
Keep cutting strips and wrapping until your entire frame is covered. Glue the ends of the strips down as you need to.
Lay out the white chicken wire and bend it flat. Turn the frame, back side up, and lay the wire over the frame. Staple the chicken wire to the frame, pulling the wire tight as you go. Trim off the extra wire with wire cutters.
Cut a length of the wired sisal vine and wrap two lengths of it through the chicken wire. Twist the ends around the wire on the back side. Space these far enough apart so you have room for your pictures to hang. I just love the rustic look of the sisal vine with the floral – so springy!
Slip one end of the burlap ribbon from the front of the frame to the back. Leave a length long enough for hanging, and feed the ribbon back through to the front. Tie the ribbon in a bow on the front side of the chicken wire. If you need to, you can glue the tops of the bow to the frame so that it doesn’t flop forward.
Now you can print out your photos – and of course it doesn’t have to be Instagram photos. You can clip anything – family photos, inspiration ideas, notes or little art prints to your frame. These little clothespins are the perfect size and I love their bright colors!
And that’s all there is to it! This photo memo board is such a quick and fun project!
I hope you give it a try!
