Best handmade gift was from my husband on our paper anniversary. He made an origami bouquet, card and painted a picture I later framed. The picture is hanging in the dining room and the flowers and card are in my sewing room. :)
The best handmade gift I have received is an adorable tote bag that my oldest daughter put a saying on and her handprints. She made it when she was 4 and she is now 10 and I am still using the bag.
The best handmade gift I ever received was a bracelet that my daughter made in kindergarten. I still wear it sometimes and she is now 16. She’s always been an artist and has excellent taste ;-) even at 5.
When I was a teen my best friend’s mother knitted us matching cable knit sweater coats. I cannot IMAGINE the hours and hours she put into that coat. It was the warmest thing I have ever worn, and I wore it until my body changed after my pregnancy at age 27. Gosh how I wish I still had that coat…it is freezing out today!

Last year my sister made me the cutest little felt xmas house.
My favorite gift came from my grandmother when I was a young girl. Barbie dolls had just come out, and while I had most of the outfits, grandma sewed and crocheted an entire wardrobe for my Barbie. Looking back, I can only imagine the hours she put into making sure I had dozens of those one of a kind pieces.
A hand knitted shawl made by my Mom at Christmas. She passed away in February. I will always cherish that shawl.
A handmade quilt made by the aunt of my deceased husband is the only family item I have to remember him by.
The best handmade gift I received is a teddy bear made by my aunt from quilt remnants made by my grandmother. She also made me a button doll from my grandmothers buttons (out of her button jar).
My grandmother made a little doll bed out of a shoe box. She put a doll in it and made the clothes, the bed mattress, sheet and pillow. She appliqued her signature design on the pillow. I have never forgotten that simple, sweet treasure.

Any handmade gift is extra special to me but if I had to pick one i would say a hand knit baby blanket I received with my second baby. It was so soft, beautiful, and thoughtful.

The best handmade gift I have received is probably the baby things given to me by my grandma. Now that she is gone they are even more special. All handmade gifts are better than store bought stuff though!

A few years ago my kids painted pictures and put them in popsicle stick frames. That was definitely the best handmade gift I’ve received. I love making gifts for other people!
The best handmade gift ever was from my son As a young boy, he mimicked what I did to the best of his ability. I was putting together a sewing project and gave him scraps of fabric. He made a paper based quilt by gluing the fabric into a nice pattern. He gave it to his cousin as a gift!!!

My grandmother made quilts for all 13 of her grandchildren. Since we lived close by, she let my sister and I pick the colors for ours. I still have the quilt even though we lost my grandmother not too long after she gave them to us all at Christmas. I treasure that quilt.
oops..forgot to tell you the best handmade gift every received. It is the Sunbonnet Sue quilt squares that I still have and need to make into a quilt. They were a gift from my grandmother who has since passed. I love them because each one is made with clothing pieces from garments worn by my aunts and uncles and others. They are a treasure to me and I hope to be able to make them into a quilt soon.

My best handmade gift was from my husband. He made me a wood “toolbox” as a place to put my reading/writing materials, etc. on the side of my chair. It’s beautifully made, stained, and finished and I will treasure it always. It’s like a piece of furniture, gorgeous.
P.S. The best handmade give I have received would be the cozy chenille blanket my mom made for me a couple of years ago. It is the prettiest yellow, and I keep it folded on my bed to snuggle with while reading a book, or watching TV. <3

Last year I got knitted scarves, slippers and hats from my daughter. And she got a quilt from me.
Matching nightgowns my aunt made for my daughter and me for Xmas when my daughter was little. I’m tall so this was really great because she made it long enough for me. I always loved when my name was pulled at Christmas by her family because I knew I would get a handmade flannel nightgown when I was growing up. When all my kids were little she made them Xmas pj’s every year and they loved them. Thanks Aunt June.

Hands down the best handmade gift I’ve received is an advent calendar that my mom made. She spends years collecting miniature ornaments (seriously, I think she started collecting them for me when I was in elementary school) and makes an adorable calendar with a tree and 25 small ornaments to hang up.
The best handmade gift I’ve ever received was from my son when he was in elementary school. He made me the cutest little clay turtle. That was over 20 yrs ago, and it still sits very proudly on my bookshelf.

The best handmade gift I ever received was a box of scarves! I wore a different one everyday as soon as it got cold knowing I would never get to wear them all (living in both FL and CA). By the end of the week (in both states) my colleagues were trying to buy them or making their own! I still pull them out every ‘winter’ and wear them when I can.
