Best handmade gift was from my husband on our paper anniversary. He made an origami bouquet, card and painted a picture I later framed. The picture is hanging in the dining room and the flowers and card are in my sewing room. :)

When I was a teen my best friend’s mother knitted us matching cable knit sweater coats. I cannot IMAGINE the hours and hours she put into that coat. It was the warmest thing I have ever worn, and I wore it until my body changed after my pregnancy at age 27. Gosh how I wish I still had that coat…it is freezing out today!

My favorite gift came from my grandmother when I was a young girl. Barbie dolls had just come out, and while I had most of the outfits, grandma sewed and crocheted an entire wardrobe for my Barbie. The best handmade gift ever was from my son As a young boy, he mimicked what I did to the best of his ability. I was putting together a sewing project and gave him scraps of fabric. He made a paper based quilt by gluing the fabric into a nice pattern. He gave it to his cousin as a gift!!!

oops..forgot to tell you the best handmade gift every received. It is the Sunbonnet Sue quilt squares that I still have and need to make into a quilt. They were a gift from my grandmother who has since passed. I love them because each one is made with clothing pieces from garments worn by my aunts and uncles and others.
