This is a little different from our normal giveaway but when I was contacted by SC Johnson about this Gift pack, I thought right away how it would appeal to most of us!
I don’t know about you but Fall starts the busy holiday decorating season for me – and carries right on through past New Years.
Which means lots more things out and about, decorations, knick knacks – you name it.
With all those extra things out around the house – I try to clean even more often. It feels like if the house is cleaner, the extra decorations don’t feel too overwhelming and messy.
If you feel the same way, SC Johnson has a great site that called Right At Home you should check out. There are organizing tips, recipes, really fun design and decorating ideas, and ideas for you and your family like saving money at the holidays and ways to find time during all the business of the season for you!
I found this cute tutorial there for a Number Pillow by one of my favorite bloggers, Cathe Holden!
So are you ready to see what they sent me?
First off – I was surprised with how cute it was wrapped up!! I think cleaning and home supplies should always be delivered in big wrapped boxes. That would make it all so much more fun. ;)
Here’s what it looks like all spread out!
We have a Pledge Fabric Sweeper, Pledge Multi-Surface cleaner (wood, metal whatever), Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer and Toilet Cleaning Gel, Windex Electronics wipes, Shout Color Catchers and a sweet Glade Scented Oil candle!
Awesome stuff right?
Now – I’m not going to show you before and after shots of my toilet and shower – I think there is such as thing as blogger TMI. ;) But let me say that I love everything they sent!!
My favorites are the Windex Electronics Wipes and the Shout Color Catchers!
The electronics wipes are so easy to use – and they are so perfect for us. With two teenagers, a blogger and a computer guy – you can imagine the number of electronics around here.
One Windex Wipe can clean all the computers and iPods and phones! So perfect.
My other favorite is the Color Catchers. And I have proof for you just how awesome they are.
This is a shot of my sister’s quilt.
The back was prewashed without Color Catchers – can you see all the pink diamonds? Those used to be white. The red bled in the wash. :(
After we put the quilt together, we were worried about all the white on the front turning pink, so we used Shout Color Catchers in the load.
You can see that the front is nice and white and pretty!!
I’ve used these several times and have had fabulous results. They are definitely must-haves if you are a sewer or quilter!
Awesome right?
Well SC Johnson wants to send one lucky Flamingo Toes reader the same great Gift Pack!!

My favorite home care tip is to always have disinfectant wipes on hand. They are great for wiping down the counters and messy stove tops!
I love dusting my piano with a duster that has a fresh clean smell!
I visited their sites and love all the tips they offer, especially with the holidays being just around the corner!
I follow flamingo toes!
I love those color catchers! Gotta get me some! My tip for house cleaning is I take a laundry basket into the room I’m cleaning. If I have something that needs to go to another room, I put it in the basket instead of going to the other room right then. Once the room is cleaned, then I put the other stuff away. If not, I end up trying to clean the entire house and it becomes overwhelming.
I follow Flamingo Toes. Great giveaway with the holidays approaching.
I usually do a big clean up before the holidays start. Before the decoraitons go out is a good time. I really like the fabric sweepers…..they are great for pet hair.
I have white vinegar and distilled water in one spray bottle for touch up cleaning on my wood floors and ammonia and water in a spray bottle for touch up cleaning of my other non-carpet floors.

My favorite tip is to have the kids clean their rooms up before bed every night. I also like to put things in the room the belong before bed, its so much easier to clean up the next morning after that.

I like to buy those cinnamon scented pine cones to decorate the house with and they make the house smell good too!
I cut up absorbent paper that comes on a roll into squares about the size of a coaster and place it underneath a cup of tea while making it, it catches spills and is easy to clean up. The electronic wipes sounds pretty good especially when screens are used at close quarters and film builds up pretty fast on keyboards too. Thanks for sharing this giveaway.
After a big clean up(vaccum/ dusting, mopping) before the festivals start, I make a and display new artwork – paintings, flowers, streamers anything that will add newness to the house. Ciff is my best friend when it comes to cleaning kitchen cabinets and stove tops after festive cooking

Hi and thanks so much for the awesome giveaway opportunity! My fave housekeeping tip is one my Dad taught me: clean up as you cook! It keeps the kichen looking nice and the mess never piles up! Thanks, Dad!
Loved the great looks for less at Right at home!
One of the crazy things I do during this time of year is listen to Christmas music when I cook and clean. I think it makes doing daily tasks more enjoyable and it gets me in the spirit of the season.
I just went to the Right At Home site and printed off a hot chocolate mix in a jar kit that will be great gifts for our Christmas Party. Printed off the recipe.

My favorite cleaning to do during the fall and winter months is to clean the light covers and windows. It helps to have more light during those dark, overcast days.
This is the time of year that I place a boot tray and a basket for gloves and hats by the front door. There is also a mop handy to keep the melted snow/mud cleaned up…..accident prevention.

The article on Pocket Change for a Cause is one that struck a cord with me. Our family saves our change all year in a Christmas Jar! Shortly after Thanksgiving, we decide as a family where to leave the jar. Usually there is someone we know of that is having a hard time, but won’t ask for any help. We secretly leave the jar where they will find it. I’m glad to see something similar on this site.
I love easy and simple cleaning items, like disinfecting wipes, swiffer dusters, wet jet, etc.
I think the coupons and money saving tips are AWESOME from Right at Home!

This is my first visit here, love your site.
Have to say that my favourite product would have to be the colour catchers too, sewing with red fabric, need I say more?
Right at Home looks like it’s a completely AWESOME site, have it bookmarked for perusal later on, right now I need sleep.

I love burning candles around evening time. I have a couple around the house and they make it smell delicious. I usually try to match the scents for the season (I have a pumpkin one at the moment).
Best tip – use newspaper to clean a mirror. It works so much better than anything else!

After clothes come out of the dryer, I use the dryer sheet to do a little dusting before I throw it out.

This time of year is always so hard to organize because I am constantly switching decorations. But when I need to organize, I pull out everything and start fresh… That way I am not trying to fix something that is broken. :D

Thanks, Flamingo Toes, for brightening up my life!
I keep cleaning supplies on both floors of my home and in the bathrooms to make it easier to do a quick cleaning of a bathroom, get some toothpaste off a mirror, hair off the floor, etc.
I love the idea of draping warm throws over chairs and sofas for family and guests to grab for a bit of quick warm and cozy. Love the Right at Home website. Tons of great ideas!
I’m here for the organizational ideas!
I love the idea at RightAtHome to use ornaments for centerpieces. I’m going to dig out my giant glass vase and fill it with ornaments and lights this year!
I like to trade out seasonal kitchen towels. Also my quilts are switched from summery colors to more browns and reds. My table clothes are replaced too. Gets me in the mood for the upcoming holidays!

I am in nesting mode right now because I am eight months prego so this kit would be perfect. I have a four year old so everytime I turn around there is a mess so I have been teaching her to pick up all her messes and toys so she can get more toys for christmas. It seems to be working! I love this tip: Glade® Holiday Hint:
Complement color with fragrance. Use delightfully designed Apple Cinnamon products from the Glade® Winter Collection to add some extra red where needed, for example, or products featuring the Spruce It Up!™ fragrance where you’re using green.
My best holiday tip is to make decorating a family event. Play holiday music, serve hot apple cider, just make it fun!
My best tip is to play lots of christmas/holiday music to get people in the right spirit!

I have no real tips, but to motivate myself to get ready for holidays I always get those scented pinecones. :)
Living in a house full of boys, I keep sanitizing wipes in the bathroom. No matter how mad I get about them missing the potty, it is an endless fight!! So every few days I grab a wipe and wipe down the toilet and sink. Great for a quick clean when guests come over!!!
I like the gifts in a jar. Perfect for my neighbor gifts!!!
