Ok – so you might know I’m a bit of a cat person. And I have two little babies that I love dearly.
This is Xray –
Who apparently feels that the camera will steal his soul and under no condition whatsoever should he look directly at it.
And this is our baby, Kato.
Who isn’t really a baby anymore (except to me) and isn’t afraid of anything or anybody.
Christmas time is an adventure with these two. We put up the tree and it’s all – “woohooo – Christmas is here for us all”. The tree is the place to hang out and nosh on. And have epic play battles under and nap near. It’s the bessssst.
But with Christmas also comes some decor changes – and if you have cats you know that anything different is something not be trusted for many weeks. And by that time all the decorations go away again.
It also means lots of family, and other family pets, that come to visit. Which makes Xray hide under the bed. :)
So I’m trying something new this year to help them to relax. Have you heard of Comfort Zone® with Feliway®?
Comfort Zone® products help to reduce stress in pets, and stress usually results in behaviours like scratching and marking. They release natural pheromones that help them to calm down and relax! How cool is that?!
Now our guys have never done the marking thing. (thank goodness). But there is some scratching naughtiness that will get them coal in their stockings occasionally. ;)
And since new sofas are on my wish list for next year – I would reallllly love this to stop.
Since this is in one of the two rooms we are in the most, I’ve added the Comfort Zone® with Feliway® Diffuser to the nearest outlet, and I’ve used the Comfort Zone® with Feliway® Spray to this part of the sofa. Which is the only part they ever mess with, silly things.
I am hoping it helps them to relax and cut down on the scratching and to not be stressed out with all the decor changes – and all the family coming!
Awww look.
I just love finding the nearest iron object and snuggling up to it all cozy, don’t you?

How do your pets do during the holidays? Do they love it? Stress out? Climb the tree? :)
What a cool product! I can’t have a cat b/c my husband is really allergic to them, but I’ll have to pass this on to my mom! Your kitties are so cute. :)
Thanks for the info, I could use something to calm my poor old boy down, now that there is a new puppy in the house. He, has finally come out of the store room, which is where he has held up for the past week and a half. Whenever there is a new animal added to the family he feels like he is left out. But, I usually spend more time with him. This stuff may be a godsend.
My cat, Juniper, looks almost exactly like your X-ray. She loves it when we put up the tree, and as soon as I put the tree skirt under it, she takes it over. She does the exact same thing every year!
What a gorgeous kitty! I bet she’s a love! Does she “keep you company” while your crafting? Thanks for telling us about the cool product.
AW too cute. LOL @ just snuggling up to the nearest object… so exactly like a cat. I have used these sorts of calming sprays with foster cats who were stressed – I couldn’t tell if it helped but other volunteers said it worked with their foster cats. I have a cat nip plant which my own cat will go crazy over for a few seconds then go take a nap (though she’s a pretty mellow cat so she probably would’ve taken a nap anyway)
Ahhhhhh!!!!! I LOVE your babies!!!!! I can’t have any cats at the moment (my landlady doesn’t like cats…), but I’ll try the cool product when I finally be able to have a kitty of my own :) Seriously, Bev, thank you so much for the gorgeous photos of Xray and Kayo; these made my day!!!
That sounds amazing! My aunt has 3 cats right now, and I know she could use this product. Your kitties are so cute!!
My dog ignores the tree, thank goodness! I think she’s scared of it . . . but this is a great product for other types of pet anxiety!
