I’m so excited to be starting another Block of the Month Quilt along! Last year I joined in with Jacquelynne Steves Save the Bees quilt along and I had such a blast that I jumped right in when she asked me to join in with this year’s quilt, Happy Little Things!
Today we’re debuting Block 1 of the Happy Little Things Quilt!

Jacquelynne has done up the quilt in two colorways – aren’t they both pretty?! She also has several bloggers sewing along so it will be a blast seeing the blocks in all sorts of different fabrics. I’ll have a list at the bottom of the post so you can visit everyone!
For my quilt I’m using a combination of two of my fabric collections, Vintage Adventure and Vintage Keepsakes.

Each block has a sweet little flower applique! If you look at the example quilt the block we’re starting with is in the bottom right. My block is exactly the same, but I flipped my flower so it was pointing to the right. Same pattern and everything, just turned out!

I’m excited to work on my appliqueing skills with this, and I love the pretty designs of the blocks!

Oh, my goodness!! Your first block is so gorgeous, and it screams “vintage”! Your blog is so pretty, and I love the two fabric collections that you are using for this project. The colors absolutely appeal to me! My needle and thread art is most always a wool applique project, and I haven’t quite been brave enough to work with fabric. BUT . . . I’m going to definitely look more closely at your vintage collections–they would definitely be my choice if I was going to use fabric for the Happy Little Things project.
I have some Bonnie & Camille fabric in my stash that I will use. I love the embroidery you used on your flower.

I love quilting
I would use the same as you! A cute little girly quilt.
I can’t wait to get started on the Happy Little Things BOM. This is my first time at trying both embroidery and applique, and so far I’m loving learning them.
So excited for the Happy Little Things blocks. Looking forward to working on it in between my daughter’s quilt and a baby quilt.
I will be using scraps from my collection after I finish my baby granddaughter’s quilt. Thank you for the
chance to win the olfa packet prize. I want to get my daughter involved with me in quilting.
I am using Zen Chic’s fabric line Spotted. I have a bunch left over from a quilt that I made for my daughter.
I like the aqua and red in your block…what fabric did you use? I’m not sure what fabric I’ll use. I liked Julie Cefalu’s blocks too. ljbisme at msn dot com
I will be using fabrics from my stash in shades of purple and green.
I’m thinking of using a wintery assortment of colors.
I bought a kit. I’m new at all of this. I thought it would elevate the stress of choosing fabrics.
I would use cheerful looking fabrics in my quilt. There is not one specific fabric collection I would use. I have quite a bit of various fabrics in my stash.
I am going to use 30’s fabrics, bright colors. I’m also goin to incorporate my grandmother’s old tablecloths & napkins. I can’t throw away her linens and storage is limited so incorporating them into quilts allows me to keep the memories as well as share with family.
Hi, I would like to use lots of scraps from various lines (in my “collection!: All-weather friend, sunny side up, etc. Lots of happy fabrics!

I would use various pinks, purples, blues and greens from my stash. [email protected]
I think I may use some 1930’s fabric I have in my stash. It’s such a cute pattern.
