Weddings are my favorite thing.
They are so fun – whether they are simple, elegant, glittery or relaxed, it is just the best to be a part of watching two very different people pledging to love each other for their. whole. lives. No matter how different they are, or how similar.
Look at me here – starting off all mushy.
You know what else is fun? Shopping for wedding gifts!
I have this theory that every 10 years of marriage people should get a wedding shower.
I mean come on. You know after 10 years that the towels and sheets are sad and worn out. The trendy decor items that you thought were AMAZING are not so trendy anymore.
Do you still love all the things you had on your wedding registry list? I have to say I’m not sure what I was thinking on a few things.
So I think we should all get together and throw each other parties every 10 years. Another bonus? Those of us with pre-Pinterest weddings could at least have post-Pinterest wedding showers. Win win for everybody I say. ;)
But back to wedding shopping. I love pairing up Couples gifts. That way both people get something they love!
We had some friends that were just married so I headed out to do a little wedding gift shopping. Of course I went to my favorite place – Target!
I snapped some photos of Couples gifts ideas while I was there – what do you think of these?
Wouldn’t it be fun to give a cookware set paired with the cutest crock pot ever? (If I was having another wedding shower, this one be on my wish list!)
That way they could do big meals that use up all their pots and pans and take 3 hours and turn the kitchen into a giant mess, and taste wonderful, and they could also do quickie meals in their chevron crock pot that cook all day while they’re out surfing, and still taste wonderful.
My favorite pairing was this one though – I love the idea of giving a Keurig coffee maker paired with one of these fabulous drink dispenser. Because maybe he likes coffee and she likes parties and lemonade. Or giant mason jars. Because really, who doesn’t?
Aren’t they fun?
To prove that by my theory I am due for another wedding shower – here’s a grainy wedding photo. Actually, I should get two wedding showers. In case you’re keeping track.
And yes, he still puts that look on my face.
So what would you give for couples gifts? I would love some new ideas!
Make sure you check out Target for tons of ideas for Wedding gifts – they are a great place to find gifts that are perfect for both people getting married, no matter how different their likes and interests! #TargetWedding

On September 25th we will be married 42 years!!!! Every time I say that, I still can’t believe it. I am happier than I have ever been and more in love than ever. Truthfully at this point I think I could furnish another home so I don’t need another shower but I love the thought.
Hi Bev
Good to see you this morning. I love the idea of pairing on the gifts. You are probably right on the 10 year idea. We just celebrated our 43rd anniversary, so I really don’t remember the tenth all that well. lol. And I love the wedding picture of you and your hubby. Absolutely beautiful.
Being a Wedding Planner and having an outdoor wedding venue at my home, I guess you could say that I also love weddings. And I can’t go to one without crying, so don’t worry about the ‘mushy’ stuff on my account.
By the way, I launched my Etsy store today, We Are Crafts. I hope you will go check it out. It doesn’t have all the items in it yet, still working on getting more posts in and more items made for it. But, still, I would love it if you drop by. We are also doing a giveaway in honor of the opening, so be sure to check out the details on my facebook page, “Bridgeport Lake Bed and Breakfast.
Oh my gosh I love your photo!!
awww look at you guys. I really love the idea of couple gifts. If it’s a couple that I think would use it I’d for sure do an electric fondue pot and maybe a recipe book or maybe a mini dessert one. SOme of our most fun times have been having other couples over for fondue the long drawn out meal just gives you so much time to connect and appreciate eachother. Plus there’s barely any prep
You guys are so cute in that wedding photo. I love making part of the wedding gift – like this http://westcoastleslie.blogspot.ca/2013/09/altered-canvas-wedding-gift.html
YES! It should be a I stayed married party. lol. I would get two as well. Right on. Love that thinking. We DESERVE a party (or two).
I so would give k-cup machine or popcorn popper or brownie machine. Fun things to use together.
I like giving wedding gifts that can be used as part of a date night: popcorn maker and DVDs, wine glasses and a picnic basket… that kind of thing. Those would be great for anniversary/second shower gifts too!
Your wedding photo is beautiful! I had never thought of pairing gifts, but that’s a neat idea. I like baskets full of all sorts of goodies. And crockpots rock!
I like the way you think! Possibly because we just celebrated our 10th anniversary, and I could use a good party. Want to trade wedding showers?? ;)
These look like fabulous ideas from Target. We registered there back in the day, and most of the couples we’ve seen married have registered there!
You look so happy in that picture! And yes to the Keurig! I so want one! (And got married before they were even a thing!)
Awww! I love your wedding picture! :) So cute! Love the gifts you picked out too! Target is always a great place for wedding gifts! :)
