Doesn’t it seem like life just speeds up as we head into the holidays?
It feels like to me that things just start going crazy after Labor Day and don’t slow down until mid January.
With all the business from school and work and family events and holiday time, I really have to force myself during the day to slow down and take a little “me” time.
Do any of you find that’s hard to do? Seem’s like there is always something that needs to be done. :)
So today I’m sharing a few things that work for me during the day – and at the end of the post I’d love to hear something that you do to refresh during the day and keep you going!
We are so fortunate to live close to the beach – and so sometimes all I need is a little drive down the coast – or a little time on the back patio. Since I’m on the computer A LOT – between blogging and work – it really helps to walk away and chill a little on the patio. The view doesn’t hurt either.
And if I’m really needing some time? Sitting outside with a book, something to drink, and the view as the sun goes down? Heaven.
We also live in a pretty little community that has a couple of lakes – they are perfect for a walk during the day to get out and get away from computer. And everything else :)
It’s amazing how much better I feel after a walk around the lake, and a little time with the camera and some pretty flowers along the way.
One of my other favorite things to do, as crazy as it might sound, is to to cook. Now there are definitely days when the idea of making dinner goes out the window. But most of the time I love getting in the kitchen and making something new. And fortunately my family doesn’t mind being guinea pigs and letting me try out all the recipes I’ve seen on tv and pinterest!

So this maybe all sounds a little boring – but they’re all defintely things that keep me going through the day!
What about you – do you have things you do to take a break or for some “me” time?

Ahhhh. Your photos made me instantly relax. :-) Sometimes it’s hard to find outdoor beauty in Oklahoma so keep posting pics and I’ll live through you! Haha
Wow! beautiful pictures Bev. I actually love to sit outside on a beau.tiful day and watch the birds.
Avoid any items that plug in.
I like to take a long hot bath and drink coffee or hot tea! I am so ready for winter : )
I’ll be over soon! Around sunset for that drink and view.
Gorg sunset! I’d enjoy that any day… p.s. I enjoy cooking, too!
That sounds like a perfectly relaxing day! What a beautiful place you live in.
Gorgeous pics Bev! :)
My desk is near a window so even though I’m on the computer far too much (like you with work and blogging) I sometimes just stop and enjoy the view.
Great photos, Bev! My me time mostly is taking a shower. lol! Can’t wait for the boys to be a little older so I can just send them out to the backyard and I can lounge on the patio watching them! :)
Bev, what gorgeous pictures! I’d love to sip one of those drinks on my back patio!
