I love dressing up plain canvas totes! They are so fun to do and you can create so many different looks. You can find canvas totes in almost any craft store or even Amazon – and you can never have enough cute totes right??
Today over at Lil Luna I’m sharing the full tutorial on how to make a sweet DIY Bow Tote – I think these are so fun! You can create such different looks by changing up your fabrics and adding a bit of ribbon or lace.
The tote over at Lil Luna is the blue fabric tote, but I also wanted to show you this cute lighter version I made with a little lace! I just changed out the bottom panel for a section of lace and it gives it a whole different feel. They are both so fast to sew up and I think they’d be a great gift too!
Head over to Lil Luna for the tutorial on how to sew up your own Fabric Bow Tote!
To make the lace version, use the same measurements as the blue fabric tote for the bow and ribbon on the straps. Instead of the fabric panel at the bottom, measure the width of your bag and cut a length of lace 1″ longer. Fold the two short sides under and sew the lace in place at the bottom of the bag. Easy peasy!
Wouldn’t they be fun gifts for a Girls Craft Night or a Back to School Teacher present? I’d love to see any photos of bags you make!
