I’ve said it before, but you just can’t have too many zipper pouches! They make such great gifts too – which is what I’m sharing today! This cute and easy Donut Zipper Pouch is a gift for a sweet friend. So of course donut fabric seemed like the perfect fit!
You might recognize the zipper pouch, it’s the same design as my Floral Embroidered Zipper Pouch. The great thing about a pattern you love is that you can really change it up with different fabrics or design, and the actual sewing goes so quickly because you’ve done it before!
The fabric is a new release by Maude Asbury for Blend Fabrics – the line is called Lolly! It’s all full of donuts, cupcakes, jars of sweets and cute coordinating prints! I just fell in love with the donut fabric, and I used the sprinkle looking print for the lining of the bag.
I added this cute phrase to the front – you can get the free pattern here. I had a hard time deciding what to embroider! There are so many fun donut phrases out there. :) For the stitching I used a chain stitch on “Donut Worry” and a back stitch on “Be Happy”. For all the stitching I used three strands of DMC 3031.
I added a fun little tiny felt donut as a zipper pull – and I think it’s just the cutest thing! I have gotten carried away making these and I’ll have a pattern and tutorial for you for these next week!
I’m excited with how it came out and I can’t wait to give it away!
Do you ever make up zipper pouches as gifts? I think I’m going to fill this one up with some candy and other cute little things! Time to hit up the dollar bins at Target!

Bev! That is so adorable! The zipper pull is THE cutest! I am excited for the tutorial! Thanks!
And, I forgot to say, the fabrics look so nice together! I will have to check out Lolly! :)
Hey Bev, where did you get the plaid fabric? I couldn’t find it on the “Spend” website.
Hi Kelly! Sorry about that, I need to update the post! The top fabric is actually part of a vintage sheet – but I think if you got pink gingham and cut it on the bias it would have the same look! I hope that helps!
So adorable, love the zipper tag too! Thanks for sharing on craft schooling Sunday!
oh so cute! I should try, tho my sewing isn’t the greatest :) Thank you for sharing this~!

I love to make little (and big) bags. I am a member of several bridge groups and when it is my turn to hostess, I provide 3 bags as part of the prizes. First, Second, and that all important Special for the person who has had a whole afternoon of bad cards.
