I’m so excited to show you some more of my family room transformation!
I feel like this room is going to be an ongoing project – but I have some updates for you and I’m loving how fresh and pretty the room looks for Spring!
There are still several things on my wish list (couches, lamps, and someday a room that I can paint the walls of) – some of which are VERY far in the future. But we’re getting there!
So you’ve seen this side of the room in progress before. I’ve added gallery-style artwork along the corners to add lots of color to the walls. I love all the different shapes and styles of artwork!
If you follow on Instagram you saw a sneak peek of my new arrow pillow from Target – isn’t it the cutest?! I love it.
Since we’ve got kids (and usually extra kids too) someone is always laying on the floor watching movies or playing games. So I’m excited to have some fun new pillows that are cute but also comfy!
I need to do a “family furniture” post sometime for you and go through all the old/antique pieces we have that have been passed down in the family.
One of them is this trunk in the photo! It was Mr. F.T.’s grandpa’s trunk – he was a Navy captain and he took it on all his sea voyages – and usually filled it with things to bring back to grandma. :) It has a plaque on the front with his name on it. :) It’s all chippy and awesome.
I’ve hung some family photos, plates and iron decorations, along with this fun fabric artwork from Target and my Deer print from Mandipidy!
Oh and here are my Monograms all hung on the wall. Isn’t this a great spot? I love that skinny little strip of wall for these!
So now let’s do a 180 and check out the other side of the room!
I have new pillows here too – that are so perfect for this room! They’re super soft and comfortable – and they match my quilt and the colors in the room perfectly! Plus they are Kato approved. So there’s that.
You can also see our little basket of Angry Birds – these come out for occasional battles that usually involve me getting pelted way more than anyone else. This does not seem fair to me but there it is.
Have I told you my Dad is an amazing artist? I don’t think I have. Well he is. He does sculpture and painting and lots of other things. But his main medium is watercolor painting.
I wish I had noticed the glare on this one – it’s hard to see but it’s one of my favorites of his. The colors are great for this room too with the greens and blues. Plus it just looks like a relaxing place to hang out. :)
And the last little spot that has a sweet Spring display – the chair “that needs help” and the pallet clock!
Here’s another new pillow – I went a little pillow crazy but we really needed them! This one is a super soft knit on the front and it fits perfectly in this chair!
My grandpa built this little magazine stand (I think in woodshop in school. Correct me if I’m wrong Dad.)
So you can now see the Pallet Clock in its natural habitat! And I have this darling spring cloche that I’ve paired with these pretty books!
I’m dying over the little bee on this Target cloche. So cute!
Here’s a little peek at a project I’m going to do this summer – this chair is getting recovered! (Help. I’m skerrrrrred.)
Isn’t it going to be gorgeous? Well. It has the potential based on fabric anyway. Cross your fingers for me. And toes too.
So that’s our progress so far! It is such a comfortable family room. We spend pretty much all our time in this room so it’s office, play room, sometimes even bedroom when the kids have sleepovers. It definitely has to multitask!
But I feel like it’s pretty and bright and ready for Spring!
I’d love to know what you think too!
All of my new pillows and some of the artwork in the room came from Target’s awesome new Threshold line. They have a fun video full of lots of inspiration for Spring – you can find ideas for you living, dining and bed rooms!
It’s Time for Springtime.

Anti glare glass is awesome in picture frames. It isn’t too expensive, but at the same time I wouldn’t just go through and replace the glass in everything I own.
Love how that turned out. I just need some neutral couches so I can decorate with some pillows. I guess I shouldn’t complain, nice hand me downs are sometimes hard to come by. :)

Looks AWESOME, Bev!! I’m loving all of the pops of color. And I love your dad’s painting! How great is that to have!! I also love how many family pieces you have. We have a lot of those, too, and they really help bring some character into a room.
LOVING the Target arrow pillow!!!

Your home has such an inviting look. Some comfortable and cottagey(don’t think that’s a word). You display so much love in your home with all of the family made items from generations . I’d enjoy a cup of tea nestled under the throw on the sofa.

I love the pillows! (I super duper love the chalkboard “as the deer pants for water…” artwork!) I love all of the color you brought into the room with the pillows. xo
