One of the things I love about Anthro jewelry is the great variety.
You can find everything from sweet little charm necklaces to ginormous necklaces made of golf ball sized beads, and everything in between.
This is one of those fun in-between necklaces. It’s got such cute features – sweet rhinestone and stone rings – all wrapped up in chains and beads.
And no beads the size of golf balls.
I love the color of the stone rings combined with the dark chain!
Here’s the original – a little more reasonable than yesterday’s – but still coming in at $48.
This one is pretty simple too – nothing to fancy in the way of wire work!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 3 ring beads – about 1″
- 2 smaller bead rings – about 3/4″
- 3 decorative rings – (silver, rhinestones – whatever – you want them to be about the size of your larger bead rings)
- 3 beads
- chain – nothing too chunky – you’ll need about 120″ (ish)
- 9 jump rings (close to the color of your chain)
- 1 head pin
- 2 eye pins
- lobster closure
All the supplies came from Michaels.
Start by laying out your beads and rings in the layout for the necklace. That will make it a bit easier to see how everything goes together.
We’re going to start with the two rings on the left side. Connect the two rings by looping them together with a length of chain. Double wrap the chain and connect the two ends with a jump ring. The rings should be about 3/8″ apart.
Connect the top bead ring to one of the silver rings. There should be a little more chain in between these – the rings should be about 5/8″ apart.
Repeat these steps for the top three rings on the right side – just reversed – and layout the rings like the photo below.
(It doesn’t have to be exactly the same, but you want all the larger beads on the top and the smaller rings hanging, or your necklace might look crooked)
Connect the two center rings – they should be about 3/8″ apart.
Next up, add a larger ring, centered below the two middle rings. There will be chains from each middle ring connecting it.
This ring should be about 3/4″ away from the middle rings.
Add one of your round beads to the eye pin. Create a loop above the bead. (Check out the How To page for instructions).
We’re going to add a silver ring below your center ring. Loop the chain around both rings, but instead of attaching the chain with a jump ring, add both ends of the chain to the loop above the bead. Close the loop. The bead should hang in the center of the silver ring.
Cut a length of chain 3″ long. Add it to the looped end of an eye pin. Place a round bead on the pin.
Create a loop at the top of the bead. Connect this bead to one of your top middle rings with a length of chain, doubled, by adding the ends of the chain to the loop. The bead should hang about 3/4″ below the ring.
(Don’t go too much longer than that with these – otherwise you have little bead tassels hanging in awkward places. Trust me.)
Repeat with another bead and add it to the other top middle ring.
Now the bib part is done – let’s work on the rest. Cut 4 – 18″ length of chain. Take two of the chains and add all four end links of the chains to a jump ring.
This will make two large loops of chain.
Feed the bottom of these long loops through the top ring on the far right side of the bib, from front to back. Hold the ends of the loops and pass the end of the chains with the jump ring under that – to make a loop around the chains that will hold them to the beads. (See image below – that was a terribly confusing sentence.)
Repeat for the other side – adding the chains for the top ring on the far right.
Finish the ends with a jump ring and lobster closure.
And you’re all done!
Isn’t it a fun take on a Bib Necklace?
It’s not really heavy either – so that’s nice.
Also? Posing for photos is dumb.
Don’t hold it against the necklace k?
I’d love to hear what you think!!
Tomorrow? We’ve got a little ribbon – and more chain – on the schedule! Woot!

Oh my! This is a fabulous knock-off. While I love the dainty style of the gold and pastels in the original, your version is “biker chic” and very industrial looking. LOVE IT!
Do you mind if I ask where you got the beads? I’ve never seen anything like them.

Another cute necklace. I don’t do much jewelry making so I was wondering what an eye pin was and as I scrolled down, there was the picture. So a great tutorial again. Thanks.

This is so cool Bev. Love the colors you chose. Now, where in the heck do you store all of your creations?!

This looks awesome, but also expensive. Maybe more expensive then the actual necklace? I think it would be awesome if you gave how much it cost you in the tutorials.
