I have got a fun treat for you!
The sweet folks from Hormel have teamed up with Flamingo Toes to offer you a yummy giveaway!
But before we get to the prize, let me tell you about their exciting new website.
Hormel has just launched a new website called Recipe Nut!
Recipe Nut is an online recipe site – where you can keep track of all of your favorite recipes and browse for new ideas.
But the thing that I really like about this new site is that I can save recipes from ANYWHERE to my Recipe Nut account.
I can save any recipe I find online in one easy place now. Isn’t that cool??
I think it is. :)
To help launch this fun new site, Recipe Nut is doing an A-Maz-Ing Facebook giveaway.
Entries are accepted now through October11th.
Simply fan or “like” the page, submit a name and description of your favorite family recipe and the story behind it as well as an image of the note card or page that it’s printed on.
Ten finalists will be selected and fans can vote for or “like” the entry they think best exemplifies a truly treasured recipe.
The winners will be announced on the RecipeNut Facebook page on October 25th.
What can you win if you submit your favorite recipe???
Only a chance at nearly $2,000 in prizes. Hello.
You can get all the details on the Contest Tab of their Facebook page.
And for a fun Giveaway a little closer to home . . .
Hormel sent me this great box of products to review.
Yummy right?
I knew just what I wanted to do.
We love quick and easy meals – that taste great. So to review a couple of the products I came up with:
Meat Lovers Pizza Nachos
These would be perfect for a quick dinner or even a party snack food!
Ingredients:
Hormel Pepperoni Minis
Hormel Real Crumbled Bacon
Scoop Tortilla Chips
1 lb Italian Sausage
1 can Italian Diced Tomatoes
2 cups Mozzarella Cheese
1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
fresh grated Parmesan Cheese
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
Brown your sausage. When sausage is cooked through add in the package of Hormel Pepperoni Minis.
(These are really cute. I love how small they are!!)
Add in the tomatoes and the seasonings.
Simmer for 5 minutes to let everything blend and your sauce to thicken.
While the sauce is cooking lay out your tortilla chips on your cookie sheet.
I like to lay them out so they’re like little bowls. They hold more yumminess that way.
When the sauce has simmered, spoon it over the chips.
Layer on the mozzarella cheese, bacon ( I used half the package) and grate Parmesan cheese over the top.
The bacon was so good! We kept snacking out of the bag while the nachos cooked. :)
Back in the oven to melt the cheese for 10-12 minutes.
Remove from the oven and enjoy!!
I served this with a small salad because Mr. F.T. has this weird idea that we should eat vegetables occasionally.
So I humor him.
Isn’t that fun? It was so good. We all loved it.
You’ve been so patient – waiting for our giveaway! :)
Here it is . . .

Oooh. That looks tasty. Hmmm – RecipeNut. That’s a really good idea, because I’m always forgetting if that pork recipe I liked was on allrecipes or the kraft website or…. etc, etc. So, I’d use it as a main “hub” for all of the recipes I find. Maybe I’d check use it to do some weekly meal planning prior to going grocery shopping for the week.
Neat! And that looks really yummy, and now I’m extra hungry.
Mandy [Mandy's Yellow Corner] says
Mmmmm pizza nachos… That looks SO good! I bet it’s great for game day food!

I love the idea of Recipe Nut. Every time I need to find a recipe online I have to try and remember which website it was on. Half the time I can’t find it. Thanks for letting us know!
Mindy says
Since my favorite chefs utensils are a canopener and a microwave, this package is pretty perfect for me. Saweeet! I’d definitely make chili with the chili one night for dinner (recipe: open can with can opener, poor into bowl. Microwave until bubbly. Eat). I’d give the oven mit to my sister, the real cook, so I don’t hurt myself trying to use the oven.

This looks great!

So I would use recipe nut to store all of my recipes, instead of just adding them to my favorite on the side bar and cluttering that area up. Having one place where you could keep all your recipes sounds awesome. And I love the hormel bacon bits, they are great to add to salads, soups, chilis, baked potatoes, etc. Think if I won the first thing I would make is Frito Boats. Yum.
Elise says
I would definitely be using the Hormel goodies to make your Meat Lovers Pizza Nachos!! Looks great and would go over really well with our family!! YUM!
Elizabeth says
I would use the package to make some yummy snacks! Maybe some little tacos!

Ooo, I love me some food!!! What a fun giveaway! I am going to check out the Recipe Nut site right now. This could be such a huge help because I’m always finding yummy recipes online but most of the time I’m not around a printer. Can’t wait to try it out!

Wow, seriously? A place I can store all my online recipes? I’ve got to rush over there right now and start my account! :) Thanks for sharing and letting us know. Oh, and the prize pack seems perfect for a game day party, doesn’t it? :)

Great giveaway! I would use Recipenut.com by looking up recipes as I am always looking for new ideas!
I’d use this prize pack by having some friends over for a football game and entertaining, having some yummy snacks for them. My fiance and I are on a tight budget saving for our wedding and it would be nice to still be able to socialize with friends and save money!

Oh what a great idea for a recipe site. It’s great to be able to save recipes from anywhere rather than dealing with multiple places you have recipes saved on then trying to remember which one you have the one recipe you remember saving.
GREAT recipe you’ve come up with using those goodies. I’m sure you know that your family is totally normal. I have never seen anyone yet than can’t help sampling bacon. LOL While we had all four of our boys living at home I always had to cook an extra package of bacon when I needed that for a recipe. They’d each wander through my kitchen and steal some and before you know it, it was gone. That looks like a great one to try. Thanks.
I’m not sure what I’d make with all those goodies myself but I think it would be spread out over 2-3 recipes. The coupon I think would be used to buy some type of beef from their always tender line and combine that with cheese of some kind along with the bacon with a good bread, maybe Cibiatta for a great sandwich, but that’s as far as my mind has gone in thinking of what I’d do with the goodies.

We are a pizza making family and this would definately be put to good use. I love the idea of recipe nut. I had not heard about it until I read your post. I am always printing recipes and then misplacing them.
Becky says

Kyla T. says
I would use these ingredients to make all kinds of different mini pizzas for the family!
