I am so excited to share this giveaway with you!
I am by no means a camera expert. I love to take photos – and I’m slowly learning what makes a nice shot.
One of those things is Natural light.
It makes such a huge difference – so much that I stopped taking pictures in the evenings – especially for tutorials.
The flash washes out the color and creates such harsh shadows!
But now I’ve found this great tool – and I am so excited about it.
It is called the Lightscoop.

Have you heard of it?
It’s this little mirrored reflector that sits over your SLR’s existing Flash.

The Lightscoop reflects the light from your flash to reduce the harsh shadows and make the lighting much more natural.
Here – they have a handy dandy illustration that shows you.
See? The light bounces off the ceiling or wall and creates a more natural looking light – like daytime!
Let me show you some examples of why I love this so much.
To show you how cool this little gadget is – I took all these at night. No natural light anywhere.
They’re also completely unedited – the photos are straight out of the camera.
I have complained before about how hard it is to take photos in my living room. There are NO windows. So even in the daytime – photos are dark and fuzzy.
Check out this grouping. You can see how bright and obnoxious the flash photo is – and the shadows are so bad that you can’t even tell there’s a bird in the birdcage.
Withthe Lightscoop though – the last photo looks like I took it midday.

Same goes with photos for tutorials or my Etsy shop. Before, they all had to be during the day.
This set I took outside – full dark. I bounced the flash off the side of the house.
You can see without a flash at all I couldn’t get a clear picture.
It’s still amazing to me how much the last picture looks like natural light!

This also works great for animals. I’d like to introduce you to Xray.
I have absolutely no idea why he graced me with this little photo shoot – especially when I took the “flash” photos.
With the Lightscoop his coloring is right and his eyes don’t have glares or weird flares.
Oh. He’s so cute. Especially since he isn’t destroying the roll of toilet paper.

One of my favorite uses is for shots of people. Here’s my pretty girl to show you.
This corner of the room is so dark that I couldn’t get a “Without Flash” shot that was anywhere near decent.
And the flash is crazy bright. You can hardly see her features.
But the Lightscoop shot looks so natural! Love that smile. ;)

The amazing thing is that this is so easy!
All you have to do is pop the Lightscoop on your camera and follow the guidelines they provide for setting it up.
I have played with it quite a bit to learn which settings work for the lighting that I’m in – but that’s been so fun.
It’s nice to get my camera off of Auto!
Amazingly enough – the Lightscoop is only $29.95!!!
Such a reasonable price for a HUGE difference.

HOORAY! I liked Lightscoop on fb. This would be perfect for shooting kids indoors. They move so fast that you’ve almost GOT to have a flash on…then pics are so yucky looking. Crossing my fingers!
I shared the giveaway on fb :)
I am a FT follower…and LOVE every minute of it!
That’s an easy one: as a mommy blogger, I often have to take pictures in the evening after kid’s bedtime so it would be perfect for a lot of my pictures instead of having to fiddle with other lighting and the photo editor
I am not a blogger, but I am a Mommy and take tons of pictures. Since I began following blogs I am overwhelmed by the quality of the photos and want to be able to replicate that. This would go a long way toward that goal.
Oh how I would love to win this! My sister and I are taking a photography workshop in June with Miz Booshay, I would love to have this handy tool along with me!
My son does a lot of product photography for an online doggie rescue store, The HavToHavIt General Store, where we are volunteers. The Lightscoop would be perfect for all the shots he has to do of jewelry and doggie items.
Thanks for the great giveway….hope we win! Paws crossed….

We take a lot of indoor shots -especially when it’s as hot as it is here! I’d use the lightscoop to get great pics of my kids this summer.
Already a FT follower :)
I would love to use Lightscoop with my family pictures especially for holidays! I don’t get to see my family often, so this would be a special treat to be able to see them more clearly—without the shadows, etc…..that using a flash or not using a flash [without a lightscoop!] produces! Thank you for the giveaway!
I could really use this! Our house has poor natural lighting so we always have to use the flash when taking photos inside (and we have 2 beautiful kids and another on the way who do incredibly adorable things we want to capture). But with the flash, we always have really harsh shadows and washed out coloring. This little device would REALLY help us out!!! I’m crossing my fingers tight to win this :)

Well honestly I found this via stumbleupon but I immediately subscribed to RSS. I am really impressed with your description and would love to have this – it’s bad enough we live in a cave of an apartment where most houseplants die :( but taking photos here is quite a process of manually adjusting both camera settings and lighting — and even then not getting the shot I would really like to have. Thanks for the opportunity to enter!

I would use it for indoor, everyday photos. They will look so much better than a flash!
I’ve been wanting one for quite some time! My living room has lots of windows, but never gets great light. I always have to use the flash when I take pics of my little guy so this would be so handy!
I wants it! Honestly, I’ll most likely buy one if I don’t win, but who wouldn’t rather get one for free? :)
I’d use to take pictures of food for my blog.

This is amazing! I am getting myself a camera for my birthday this summer. I would use this for taking pictures of everything! Thanks!
I am a Flamingo Toes follower!
I would love to have a lightscope! Since I work full time, I can’t always photograph stuff for etsy during the day, so the lightscope would really help out with evening photoshoots!
I’m a follower of flamingo toes!
I would use the light scoop for indoor photos with my family!
Such a great gadget!

I have been a reading your blog for a while now and just became a follower. I LOVE your site and it’s one of my “favorites” on my computer. I also checked out the lightscoop site – you must of read my mind because I was wanting to have a better look in my photos. I just started a blog and I noticed that my pictures looked kind of raw – not in a good way. Most importantly, I would love to use this to take pictures of my adventures in my new city, my 3 little monkeys I chase around, and my blog that I am crazy enough to start up. The price is a score too! so impressed! Thanks for sharing!!
Wonderful product. I could definitely use this in many ways. Taking photo’s of my Cakes for one. Light really washes them out and prevents a good photo. I also make jewelry and craft work that the photo’s just do not always do well.
I have started playing around as well with personal photography. When outside and at the park if using a tree sometimes there are shadows that this would definitely take care of.
Thank you so much for letting us know about this wonderful piece of equipment.
I love this product and have heard lots about it in the blog world. I really want it.
I am a follower and a fan. Does that count as two entries!
I fb about your give away.
I “like”d the lightscoop people on fb. I have all things crossed so that hopefully I will win this bad boy. My pictures will thank me for it.
I would use it to photograph my creations and I would also use it when I take pictures at our church functions. This is an awesome gadget!
I liked lightscoop on FB…I would use it for family and Etsy shop photos!
Saw one o f these at a party and was blown away by the quality of the shots. I would use one taking pictures of my little girls crafting in our not-so-bright house.
I would love to win this. My Etsy item photos would look great with this little gadget.

I would use the Light Scoop for taking more adorable shots of my little nephew -this looks like it would make such a difference in the photo quality!
Oh wow….this looks like the answer to most of my photo problems! I have a great camera – Nikon D80 – but in our house the main living areas are east facing & even thought we have lots of windows, we have big trees & lighting inside stinks. Plus we have yellow walls & tall ceilings …that = overly warm toned, bad lighting in all my indoor shots! My nephew is also getting married in September & i know whenever I’ve taken photos inside a church they come out much like shots inside my house – overly warm & blurred due to lighting. I would LOVE to win a Light Scoop – Ooooooh! Fingers crossed!
I went to their website & was SO impressed – as I was of your pictures with & without it!
and I AM already a follower of yours on my Google homepage!
I would love this for the birth photography I do.

Well, besides our family photos, I’d use the Lightscoop to take better pictures for our etsy shop! I think it would make a huge difference! Thanks for the chance to win!

Thanks SO much for this FABULOUS giveaway!
This would completely change indoor photography for me – which currently I avoid like the plague. What a brilliant invention!
I would absolutely love this! I have such a nice camera but have no idea how to use it…this lightscoop would probably motivate me to learn a few new tricks.

I’d love a lightscoop for the pictures I take for my blog. I often craft at night after the little ones are in bed. I’m forced to use my flash a lot. I would love something like this. Oh, and of course to take better photos of my family too. =]

I’d love a lightscoop because I hate using the flash but most of our special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, etc) are in the fall so we’re always inside and I’m forced to use a flash. A lightscoop would be amazing!!
