Eeek!! It’s already time for our first Sew Our Stash!!
Sew Our Stash is a fun monthly series that Marissa from Rae Gun Ramblings and I are doing together – and we would love for you to play along too!
We want to commit to doing more sewing for ourselves! So the last Thursday of every month we’ll be sharing what we’ve made to wear!
Now – I don’t have a lot this month – and I’m using the excuse that we started the series halfway through the month. But something’s better than nothing right?
This month I made up this sweet Chiffon Maxi Dress – and I have a tutorial for it too!
It’s super light and perfect for summer!
I also made up my first Seafarer Top!
The Seafarer Top is a pattern by Abby from Sew Much Ado – and can I just say how much I love this pattern?! It is so fabulous!
It has a cute waistband option, and an armband option. I did the waistband – I didn’t have enough fabric for the arm bands. But I’m doing my next version with that option!
It has a super cute little pocket too. I had a lot of fun deciding on a pocket fabric – and thank you to those of you that helped out with the decision on Facebook and Instagram! It was a blast to get all your input!
I haven’t done a lot of sewing with knits – but I am super happy to say that I made this top mostly with my serger!!! I’m super excited about that. I was so nervous but it all went really well!
So excited that I even have to show off my seams. Aren’t they all tidy and awesome?
I will confess that this makes me giddy. And I totally want to get to sewing on all my new fabulous knits from Fabric Weekend!
Here’s a link to the pattern if you want to check it out:
So next month I hope to have even more new things to share!
Make sure you head over to Marissa’s and check out what she’s been up to this month!
We’d love for you to play along too! You can snag a button here and join in, show off what you made this month!
Have you been sewing anything to wear this month? Leave a link in the comments if you have – we’d love to check it out!

I love the sew your stash challenge… I have so much fabric I want to make stuff with but have yet to do anything! Super impressed you made a top… I will admit I don’t have a serger nor have I ever sewn from a pattern… gasp!

After I said I would join the ‘sew your stash’ challenge I looked at some of the projects sitting around and realized there were a lot that needed altering. I chose to shorten a lace skirt that was dowdy and is now a super cute length.

Love the dress and your t-shirt. Where do you buy your knits? It’s so hard to find t-shirt knit fabric for adults.
