It’s September 15! And you know what that means,
it’s the day to announce the September Follower Winner!
I combined the number of Google Friend Connect followers with the sweet people who left me comments to tell me they follow along other ways.
The winner of the September Follower Giveaway for the Potentilla Bib Necklace is:
(as chosen by Mr. Random)
Roo – from Nice Girl Notes!
Congrats Roo! :) I’ll be sending you an email shortly.
Now that we’ve concluded our business for the day, how you do feel about a survey?
Probably crabby if you’re not Roo. Will you play along anyway? ;)
These are blog related – and not blog related. But all things I wonder about.
1. Now that there are a few more of you hanging around ( you have no idea how happy that makes me)
– your monthly follower giveaway chances are getting smaller.
Would you rather do a regular old “Comment To Win” deal for the monthly giveaway? Or keep things the way they are?
2. Is there anything you’d like to see more of around here? What do you like best?
Besides my sparkling personality.
3. What is the one thing you absolutely will not eat?
If it’s you and say, sardines or something, on a deserted island, what are you going to starve rather than eat?
4. What is the weirdest/most unique place you’ve ever been?
Mystery Spot, CA? The UFO Welcome Center in South Carolina? Anywhere in Wyoming?
(All my Wyoming readers just clicked DELETE. ha.)
5. Would you rather go to an amusement park or to a family reunion?
And no cheating and saying having a family reunion in an Amusement Park.
I’ll post my answers this weekend. :) And if no one else wants to play along we’ll just pretend this never happened. K?
Thanks again for being such faithful followers.
Your comments and encouragement are a huge inspiration to me!!

1. Hmmm…I haven’t been around long enough to know how well it’s been going up to this point, so it’s hard to say. But if you’re taking all the people from Google Connect, whether they comment or not, maybe you should just stick to people who are willing to comment. That way you know the people are really, actually paying attention; instead of people who maybe added you a while back & aren’t as much of a “loyal” follower. Just a thought. Either way, just the chance for awesome free stuff is a good thing. :) I’m even thinking about doing something similar, so obviously I think it’s a good idea. Ummm…yes, longest comment response ever… :)
2. Again, not a long-time follower, so it’s hard to say what I’d like to see more of. I’ve enjoyed everything so far, and don’t think I can really pick a favorite. How’s that for a non-answer? ;)
3. Lutefisk. I had to eat it when I was younger, and I would have gladly chosen not eating at all over having to eat it. But when you’re young you have less of a choice, especially when a certain family member isn’t afraid of making a big deal about it at Christmas dinner. Just seeing it on TV lately (and talking about it now!) makes me sick just thinking about it.
4. Probably the Cosmos, which oddly enough, I’m pretty sure is in Wyoming!
5. It depends entirely on which family we’re talking about here, but there are certainly sides that I would be inclined to choose the amusement park first.

1. it think you should change the giveaway to “comment to win”, i agree with Bree from above :) (but keep it random will ya? ;)
2. i really like the artsy craftsy tutorials, and i’d like to see more of them! :)
3. inrternal organs.
4. less of a place, more of a ritual: sky burial in china (google it!)
5. if it’s only my core family – than reunion. if it’s a big shindig – amusement park.
Michele @ The Scrap Shoppe says
Did I mention that Roo was the other name I go by??? :) Congrats, Roo!!
1. I think the way you do it now is unique and fun. Stick with it, please!
2. Ummm, I really love all the stuff you do, so I’m good. :)
3. Corn. I know, I live in the South, and we’re suppose to eat corn religiously, but I can’t stand it!
4. The flying saucer house in Chattanooga? I haven’t actually *been* there, but I’ve driven past it several times.
5. Family reunion… unless the amusement park had a tilt-a-whirl. Love that ride!
Emily {Frilly Details} says
Fun!!! I’m taking the survey because I already have my necklace coming, therefore I’m not a crabby pants. :) (Can’t wait to get it!)
1. Hmm, this is a tough one. Your way of doing a giveaway is more unique. I’ve never seen a monthly giveaway like yours and I like it. Maybe stick with it??
2. haha! Just continue with your great personality! Maybe some more recipes since I’m a sucker for food :)
3. Speaking of food… There isn’t much I refuse to eat. I would probably refuse rocky mountain oysters though. ;)
4. I walked down a bazillion stairs to the bottom of a hand dug well. It’s the world’s largest hand dug well in fact, found in Greensburg Kansas. That was the town that was completely destroyed by a tornado a few years back. Google the well, it’s pretty funny.
5. Amusement park :)

This is a long survey – I could just be writing a post on my own blog! hehehe ;)
I hate to copy and paste the questions to make sure I remembered. lol
1. I’m pro-comment give aways. I thinks some commenters above that it makes sure that everyone is paying attention. If you’re just on their reader, but they skip by you every day then they’d have less chance. I like that.
2. I’m not sure if there’s more I’d like to see or not… I read here because I like your writing style and I like your posts, so that about answers it, right? :D
3. One thing I will not eat… sourcrout. Seriously… just the smell of it makes my stomach lurch.
4. weirdest most unique place… Ummmm… I’m not sure I’ve ever been to many seriously weird places. Huh… that’s weird just by itself, isn’t it?
5. A year ago I totally would have said amusement park without any hesitation, but I’ve got this gorgeous little 1 year old niece now who is also my God daughter and she lives sooooooooo far away. So I’ll pick family reunion as long as Alora was going to be there too!

1. I think I’d change it to comment to win
2. I like everything you do! I do really like the tutorials you do though :)
3. I refuse to eat anything grape flavored…It all goes back to a 5th grade incident where I got ridiculously sick after eating a grape flavored candy – even though I don’t think I got sick form the candy, ha!
4. Oooh this is a toughy…I guess it would have to be the ham radio convention (and no I didn’t attend!). I was the manager on duty at the event facility I work at that day and MAN that was weird. It was the first time I walked into a room and thought: “I am most definitely the coolest person in here…by far.” Wow, yeah…strange experience!
5. Definitely an amusement park!
Ingrid says
1. I would change it to comment to win… just cause it would increase my chances of winning! But not to change it to comment on this, tweet here, post on your blog and link it back to facebook and then link that to 5 blogs that have to comment back here to win.
2. I especially love all the artsy crafty stuff, but i really love everything Bev. Favorite. blog. ever.
3. I don’t really like potatoes that much. They are so starchy and dry. That is weird, I know. But I really don’t like steamers or raw oysters, and sea scallops creep me out with their soft texture, but I love bay scallops, the smaller ones are much firmer. (Ok, now I sound like a weirdo, and maybe this is where my 2 year old gets his food texture issues). I also can’t handle salmon, I have tried so many times since it is so good for you, but it makes me gag, it is always so fishy! I do love seafood, but I tend to like it in it’s pure form, no paella, or seafood salad or stuff like that. I like grilled and blackened fish.
4. One of the coolest places I have ever been was in Austria in Salzburg to the salt mines. You take a train into the mountain and then a huge slide down to the mine. You get to dress up in miners clothes and slide down on a burlap sack. Then there is this salt wall, yes, a wall of salt and you can lick it! I was 11 so I didn’t care that other people licked it too, so I did it.
5. Hands down, family reunion (if it is my side, not my husband’s, hehe). And that will be Christmas this year :o)
Phoenix Peacock says
Its true, I’m pretty crabby. But survey’s are my weak spot and a great quick fix to make me happy. :)
These are blog related – and not blog related. But all things I wonder about.
1. As a commentator… I say comment to win. but hey, its your blog and I love your blog… win or lose!
2.I love your tutorials – but you already do so many, I can’t really ask for more!
3. My survival skills are pretty strong. I will eat in order to not starve… so nothing is really all that bad I suppose. But one of the worst things I’ve ever tried was sushi with quail egg. UGGGGGGGGG. gross
4. Barcelona, Spain. Amazing but unique for sure!
5. Probably the family reunion. but thats complicated :)
Roo {NiceGirlNotes} says
Michelle’s trying to scam on my necklace! What the heck!?
Commenting to win is cool… or maybe following you on twitter cause you need to get on tweeting. Know what I’m saying?
Thanks for the necklace! I’ll take a million pictures! Is it this one exactly???
Mruna says
1. commenting to win
2. More tutorials especially stuff like the anthro necklace week(I have yet to link up mine! :O )
3.I’m vegetarian so won’t ever eat meat…And maybe bittergourd and other yuck greens!
4.Sometimes some corners of my garden feel unique…Its like you never notice whats happening there until you walk right up and feel you’ve never been there before even though you’ve lived in the same house for 4 years..:O!
5.Amusement park anyday!
Peggy says
1. Keep things the way they are.
2. I like tutorials on crafty things and items to wear.
3. That stinky cheese, I can’t recall the name of it.
4. Walking into a yard with vicious dogs, while doing the census.
5. Amusemant Park.
Maria says
1. I think “comment to win” will only put people in who want to win the prize but I like that I am automatically entered every month just by being a follower.
2. I like your tutorials, especially on clothing. The starfish top was my fave.
3. hmmm…sardines is a pretty good one. Can I say pretty much anything the contestants have had to eat on Fear Factor? (Is that show still on?)
4. I’m can’t think of anything…
5. Family reunion. My kids are too little that I don’t get to do much at amusement parks right now. At a family reunion other people could entertain the girls and I could actually eat hot food. :)
Pam says
1. I’m ok with “comment to win” but also think it is cool that as a follower I’m entered to win :)
2. Love your tutorials, like the wristlet. You make things look so easy!
3. I WILL NOT eat olives. Or mustard. Either alone or together. I would rather starve… :)
4. Have you ever been to Wall Drug, SD? It is on the way to Mt. Rushmore (or after, depending on which way you’re headed). There’s so much crazy stuff there to see and do…
5. Our family reunions usually end up in big fights, er, arguments. Therefore, definitely would have to say amusement park. But only if its just me, not my family! :}
