Woohooo! It’s time for a party!
I’m so excited for this – I can’t wait to see all your favorite ornaments!
But first, let me show off some of my favorites – and why I love them!
I’ll start off by saying our tree(s) are kind of a mish-mash of ornaments. We don’t do the themed thing – but I would like to someday. Maybe when I can finally convince Mr. F.T. to let me put a Christmas Tree in every room. I’m dancing a fine line right now with the two we have. . . ;)
Every year in their stocking, the kids receive ornaments. Usually they relate to their likes and interests of the year.
For example, our daughter’s all-time favorite candy. . .
And our son’s Go-To snack. One of many snacks since he is apparently hollow and can NEVER get enough food in him, but this is his favorite . . .
We also like to find ornaments when we travel and it’s fun to remember the trips we’ve taken as we hang them on the tree.
This one is so pretty – it’s an Aspen leaf ornament we found while in Aspen at a family wedding.
And Disneyland. We had a rather rocky road to California, and one of the first things we did as a family after we moved here was to take a couple of days and relax at Disneyland. It was so fun to enjoy and laugh and act like kids.
We have a Chili Pepper to remind us of living in Arizona . . .
And swimsuits to show off where we live now.
And of course the random pickle ornament. Which I am assured by Emily, no tree should be without. ;)
One of my most “sentimental” ornaments – the Kneeling Santa.
My grandparents had a small statue of the Kneeling Santa that they put out every year on their coffee table at Christmas. I remember Papa telling me that Santa was kneeling before Baby Jesus and worshipping him because he knew that Jesus should be the focus of the season.
Papa passed away several years ago, and I still miss him very much. I love looking at this ornament and remembering him.
Our first Christmas together as Newlyweds, Mr. F.T. and I were poor as churchmice. :) We had a small artificial tree that someone had given us, or we’d picked up from a thrift store. I don’t remember where it came from, but I do remember we had no ornaments for it, or any money to buy any.
My mom picked up a set of 20 wooden ornaments for us to decorate our tree with. Most of them haven’t survived – between the kids and moving across the country twice and life – but we still have one left. It doesn’t look like much, but it reminds me of that first year together and what a wonderful first Christmas we had.
Okie dokie – I showed you mine, now show me yours!!

LOVE it! I will get the tree finished and link up…I mean anyone who has a pickle on their tree must be awesome…I am the proud owner of a Jack in the box (as in fast food) wearing a Santa hat and a Princess Leia as Jabba the Hutt’s slave girl. It so rocks!

Great ornaments Bev! That Reeses one is too cute! Your daughter and I have the same favorite candy :). Love the chili pepper! I need to find a cute cactus or something to represent our desert living days. You have some wonderful memories tied to your ornaments. Thanks for sharing :) And thanks for having this fun link party!

Since my tree is not up, I’ll just comment on yours. I have an Aspen leaf – also from a trip there. We buy an ornament each year on vacation that has something to do with the place, if it doesn’t have a date on it then we add the date.

We have a pickle too! I have many favorite ornaments ( I have a slight ornament problem) but I linked up one that I laugh at every year.

My tree is full of pickles! Husband Dearest and I try to find a different pickle ornament every year. I know…weird but it’s our “thing”. I’m on the hunt for a flamingo holding a pickle. If I every find one, I’ll send it your way too :D
