Gettin’ Our Tattoo On!

It’s time for another fun Silhouette promotion!!

When I found out the promotion this month is Tattoo Paper – I wasn’t sure how much I’d use it.
I don’t have little ones that like temporary tattoos.
(Instead I have one making noises about interest in a REAL one. Huh.
But that’s a discussion for a different day. ;)

So I got to brainstorming about other ideas for the paper.
I remembered Holly from 504 Main’s genius pumpkins from last year and tried to come up with something that I could tattoo – other than skin.

With the 4th right around the corner – I thought it would be fun to do something to decorate.

I found out this material is soooo versatile!!
Here’s what I came up with!

I tattooed the glass with “God Bless America” and put a flag image in the frame. So the letters kind of “float” over the image.
Annnd – I didn’t use my machine to cut it out!
So even if you don’t have a Silhouette, you could do this!

I started with a frame and printed out the REVERSED (duh. I always forget) image onto the tattoo paper.
I also printed out my flag image onto textured cardstock.

I covered the tattoo paper with the adhesive. Then I pealed off the adhesive and placed the tattoo image on the glass.

You want to rub the image down on the glass really well so there aren’t any bubbles. I had a few. You can learn from my mistakes. ;)

Apply a damp cloth to the tattoo paper for 15 seconds or so, then peel it up!
Pop your glass in a frame and add the image behind it and you’re done!

I like how the lettering stands out from the image below it.

Because it’s removable, after the 4th I can just wash off the tattoo and use the frame for something else!
And to discourage people (meaning 15 year old boys) messing with it – I put it up on my patriotic shelf.
