This weekend we had a Downton Abbey Inspired Christmas Tea Party! World Market had a big #DoTheDownton Virtual Tea party on Sunday and we just had to join in. I am always up for a party – and add in that it’s a tea party inspired by my new favorite show? Yes Please!
I decided that our Buffet under my big plate wall display was the perfect place to set up my dessert display. I used a bunch of items from the Downton Abbey line at World Market, along with some pieces I already had, and topped it all off with some fun vintage Christmas Trees!
So let me show you some closeups of the set up!
I bought the Downton Abbey Scone mix and added in blueberries and let me say, honestly these are the best scones I’ve ever had. You know how sometimes scones are a little . . . dry? I was so happy with how these turned out – and paired with the Lemon Curd they were pretty heavenly. I’m definitely going back for more – the mix makes holiday baking so easy!
I included the Lady Mary Tea Towel in the corner – just for cuteness. Plus how perfect is that phrase for a Dessert Table?!
For the center of the table I used my Anthro Inspired Dessert Tower and filled it up with all sorts of goodies!
I think my favorite part of the table was the Teapot and Cups though. I just love that gorgeous pattern!
To go with the Tea Set I made up some super easy and fun Tea Napkins and Napkin Rings. The napkin rings double as cocktail rings – all my guests were able to take home a napkin and ring as part of their party favor.
It was super easy to do. For the napkins, I cut out 6 12 x 12 squares of fabric. I used the Sweet Siesta Line from Blend Fabrics – they go beautifully with the Downton designs! After cutting them out, I hemmed them with a simple fold over hem along all four sides.
The Rings were super easy as well! You just need some vintage earrings or brooches, and some ring blanks!
I thought they looked so sweet with the Tea set.
For the runner on the display I scattered different shaped and colored doilies around. Then once the table was set up I added in bottle brush trees in teacups around the settings. They went so well with the theme of the party!
We all thoroughly enjoyed the treats!
All of the guests left with a Lady Mary Tote bag, a Downton Teacup, and the napkin and ring of their choice!
I am so in love with these teacups.
I just loved how the party came together! The Tea Party was so fun and such a great idea for holiday entertaining! You don’t have to make a zillion things either! Just put together things you love, make a few things, buy a few things, and enjoy your time with your guests!
If you want to pick up some of the Downton Abbey products, you can shop in stores or online.
World Market would love for you to be able to join in the fun so they have a fabulous giveaway for you!
