You guys. Today for the Scrap Busting Extravaganza we have the epic duo from Simple Simon and Co.!!
If you are a sewist you are probably already following along with their blog (s) but if you aren’t I highly encourage you to go visit! Elizabeth and liZ are soooo talented – plus they are genuinely two of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met and are so so funny. (Go like their FB page, you’ll see). Anyway I clearly adore them – and the fabulous pillow they have for us today!

Hi!
We are Elizabeth Evans and liZ Evans. Two girls who married brothers and ended up with the exact same name! We blog together over at Simple Simon and Company where we daily share tutorials, thoughts, and inspiration related to sewing, quilting, crafting, and the art of homemaking.
Today we are so excited to be over here at Bev’s place sharing a tutorial!
We actually had another project planned for Bev but then last Saturday I (liZ) went over to Elizabeth’s house with a bag of scraps and supplies that she had left at my house and one of those scrap pieces was some chalk fabric left over from an earlier project. And when Elizabeth saw the fabric her wheels started spinning and within 5 minutes we were putting together this crazy pillow instead of sitting down and planning what we supposed to be doing!
But in the end we went with some lyrics from Lionel…Although with it being chalk cloth and all we can change the pillow talk as many times as we want!
Anyway…let’s get to the tutorial.
Here was our piece of scrap and what you would need to make this pillow for yourself:
And here’s how to make it!
Pin your two back pieces to the front with the right sides of the fabric together.
Your two back pieces will over lap…this is what you want. What you are creating is an envelope back on your pillow cover so you can slide the pillow right in like a pocket and then it will just close over itself nice and tidy!
Once every thing is pinned into place sew around the entire perimeter of your pillow cover! Then….
And you are done…and ready to write some pillow talk of your own!

Ok I love it!! I need one in my life! I can already think of a bunch of things to write. ;)
Make sure you check out these other projects from the Simple Simon Girls!
Thank you so much for being a part of the series girls!
