✨ A new year means a brand-new RBD Block Challenge — and it starts today! ✨
We’re kicking things off with the very first block in this year’s sew-along from Riley Blake Designs, and I couldn’t be more excited to be stitching along again.

If you’ve never joined before, the RBD Block Challenge is a free winter-to-spring sew-along where a different RBD designer shares a block each week. All the blocks finish at 10″, making them perfect for skill-building or easy, joyful sewing — plus they mix and match beautifully with blocks from past years. Total win!
This year’s blocks are especially fun, and I love the layout Riley Blake put together to really let each one shine. I’m sewing along with a happy mix of Riley Blake basics in the prettiest palette of peaches, blues, and rosy tones — it feels fresh, cheerful, and very “new year, new quilt.”

I’m using a blend of Dainty Daisy, Sparkler, Blossom, and Dapple Dot, and I’ve had so much fun playing with the colors. I even mocked up the quilt in my fabrics so you can peek at how it will look when it’s all together — so good right?!
Here are the Riley Blake Designs basics/colors I’m using:
- Sparkler Beach
- Sparkler Apricot
- Sparkler Bleached Denim
- Blossom Peaches N Cream
- Dapple Dot Canyon Rose
- Dapple Dot Marsala
- Dainty Daisy Songbird
- Dainty Daisy Stargazer
- My background is Dainty Daisy Vintage Pastels

Our very first block is designed by Lori Holt, and it’s called Four Corners. It’s a sweet take on a classic churn dash style block, with charming details and a construction that comes together just right.

See you next week for a brand-new block… happy stitching!

I love your fabric choices! I might copy you! Thank you for sharing.
Oh your fabrics are wonderful!! I will look for them. I wish there was a bundle ready. I love your block!!!
I can’t find your sparkler fabrics so will need to go by your colors. I wish I had followed you before to know your colors and the amounts.
I didn’t care for the block as completed on RBD. I haven’t seen Lori’s own choices yet, but your block has changed my mind. Now I like it. I was having a hard tie visualizing it in the prints I already have in my stash, but now I can truly say I can get on board. Thanks for the inspiration.
